I'm glad to be here with you all

Hey everyone chuy671 here,

I've been reading the forums for about a week now, and decided to join today.I'm glad to be here. It honestly feels like a great place.

I currently have a website that is in the cps category. It was my first website, so i'm not expecting to make money off of it. It was more of a test run.I did learn a lot, but there is still so much to learn

I'm looking to find either a mentor, or a great program where I can educate my self on seo, social marketing, video creation, and all of the tools that I need for CPS online. . Also are there mentors on this website? I'm really trying to get the ball going with my website, and move onto creating more.

My niche is in the healthcare field in a particular area that has to do with orthopedics. There is a HUGE demand in this area right now, but i'm only getting 1 visitor per day. I understand this stuff might take time.

I feel as if i'm running in circles right now. I want to know what I have to do, and do it.

Any mentors, or good programs out there?

I thank you for your time. Once again, i'm glad to be here.

Best regards,

chuy671

Yes, there are mentors, coaches, consultants and all kinds of marketers that would love to help you . . . for a fee, of course. Leaving an open invitation like this should get you lots of PMs and replies to your questions.

I don't do private mentoring or coaching, but I have some advice that may help you (this comes from a career of 40+ years helping small businesses):
    • Learn all you can about your niche and have a good idea about what your audience wants and what competing products/services are already serving the niche. Why? Because you don't want to be paying a mentor a high price for a basic marketing education that you can gain right here at the WF for free. So study marketing and learn the basics right here.
    • Knowing the basic concepts and strategies of marketing will cause you to use your mentor in the best way possible - that is, to guide and help you around obstacles in your business that you can't overcome on your own. With a solid education in marketing, you will be able to ask the right questions and you will understand what the mentor is talking about. Not all mentors are good teachers and some will assume you already know about business marketing.
    • Find a mentor that has been profitable in your niche. It may take some time, but my experience is that you will get the best help from a mentor who already understands and knows the niche market. Don't listen to those that say they can help you regardless of your niche. Yes, they might help you with the basics of marketing but you can learn that on your own. You need someone who has already been on the journey that you want to take - and that means somebody that understands the nuances and issues of your marketplace.
    • Same advice for finding a mentor that has been profitable in your business model. So if you want to do affiliate marketing, find a mentor that has been a very profitable affiliate. If you want to run a membership site, find a mentor who has personal experience with membership sites. My experience has been that most mentors are good with what they have done personally ... but may not be very good outside their own expertise. I hope this makes sense ... horses for courses so to speak. If you want to be mentored in basketball, hire LeBron or Michael Jordan - not Tom Brady or Usain Bolt.
Sorry for the length of this post ... maybe it will help you or someone else contemplating hiring a mentor or coach.

    The very best to you,

Wow that was great advice! It is always refreshing to get this type of "grounding" You helped me realize that I need to slow down a bit, and really understand my niche completely. This seems more like a marathon, as opposed to a sprint.

What I will do is look more into my niche before I go through with a mentor. I will also use those forum as a form of education. It's becoming obvious that there are great people here with lots of knowledge.

Would you be able to recommended a sort of syllabus that lays out what I should be learning? Or should I just go with the flow and learn as the situation arises?

Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it.

      Best regards,

Welcome and my advice would be to choose one area of interest and stick to it. Try to avoid being paralyzed by all of the various models to make money and enticing posts. Stay focused, diligent, and consistent. Best of luck

I am a mentor but in a totally different niche- online advertising/revenue sharing. I mentor a small group of Internet marketers new and seasoned ones. Wishing you great success and hope you find a good mentor that you are looking for.

I agree with the others about finding a niche (area of interest). Try to find something you enjoy as it will be easier to remain passionate and motivated.

    Good luck.
