Have you tested the headline? If the majority of folks are leaving that quickly could be your headline is the culprit. The answer is to test and keep continually trying to beat your best performing headline. Only make one change at a time though or you won't know what change made the difference. Hope that helps. regards Roy |

Haven't read all of it but the opening lines are enough to turn me off. First, however bad I might be I wouldn't like to be addressed as 'Dear Frustrated Marketer'. Secondly the opening sentences are too long and use heavy words. I also notice that your authority/credibility does not come early enough. Just my thoughts...

That's actually a pretty standard statistic as you get lots of scrubbers, bots and tyre kickers hunting for things. Unless you really target to a sepcific set of clients and don't blast your site all over the net you probably wont get it down much more.
I looked at mine where I get about 20,000 unique's a month and it was 82% in the top range. Quentin |

Yeah it also loaded fine here.
Hmm, I think it's a common problem. 90% of people who stumbled to sales letter type is usually leaving the page. the 10% of visitors are prospect who will continue to see your sales letter and only 10% really want to buy the product. I think it's common in IM Why don't you offer some free report and capture their email so you can follow up your prospects? |

neruos,
The site loaded quickly for me (using FireFox). It also appears to be a reasonably attractive and professional site. While a high bounce rate problem is sometimes caused by a bad website, the quality of the traffic going to the website is generally the more prevalent issue. If you are not marketing to the right people, you will end up sending un-targeted or poorly targeted visitors to your website(s). Hence, they will click-through out of curiosity, but quickly lose interest when they see the content is not relevant to them. You may want to scrutinize the type visitors that are going to your site by following the links back to the sites from which they are originating. If they are coming from sites that are totally unrelated to your market/niche - that may be part of the problem. Following the "Source Traffic" links generated by your analytics tool will allow you to accomplish this task. I'm assuming that you are using some type of analytics to track incoming traffic. If not -- it should be placed high on your "to-do" list. FYI: Generally, anything over 70% is considered a high bounce rate. Hope this helps. Calvin |

Hi Neruos,
You might want to test with a different headline as that might be the component that is getting your visitors attention. As mention by some of the fellow warriors, you might want to double check the kind of traffic that you are sending to your website. You might want to put in a opt in form somewhere in your salesletter so that you can at least capture the visitors details even if they do not purchase the product. You might also want to put in the earning disclaimer on your website to protect yourself from unnecessary issues. Hope my humble contribution helps ![]() Zack |

It loaded fine for me.
However, I was put off by the gimmicky demon slant as it didn't seem to be targeting my area of interest (niche marketing) in a way that suggested I would be getting anything but razzle dazzle. Making money is a serious business (for me) and I don't want to have to work my way through an extended metaphor, a song and dance act, or a theatrical performance to get an idea of whether what you are providing is relevant to my needs. I liked the second half of the sales page as it seemed to be giving useful, relevant information. The first part I found tedious as it required me to work out the benefit to me, although I understood that you were excitedly trying to indicate there was a problem. The problem, as I saw it, was being revealed in an abstract, not very pertinent way. The issue is with the first half of the page as most are leaving in less than 30 seconds. I would suggest something more personal in the opening that holds the reader's attention and leads them into the rest of the letter. A sad story, for instance, that people can identify with. Or perhaps an amazing discovery as the bank was about to foreclose and the creditors were hounding you night and day. Suddenly a passing remark from that incredible woman (your wife) caused you to look at your business model with a new perspective (she was about to run off with your bank manager). Grab their attention and lead them into the benefits and gushing testimonials. Ivan |

I have a page that people on a couple of bookmarking sites got a little excited about recently. In 3 weeks it got 26,000 views from them and a lot of mostly positive comments. I didn't do the writing for it but I had to agree that it was really good and that was why I had put it up.
When I checked AW stats, just over 95% were leaving in the first 30 seconds. I don't know why, maybe people don't read on the net anymore, they are expecting pictures, videos or cartoons or something. Or maybe they have developed those clicking muscles so well that now that they have clicked anywhere they just want to click somewhere else. It still leaves me wondering but this one was the first where the quality was undoubtedly excellent and in the area of interest of the people coming there, and still had an incredible bounce rate. |

I suspect that's the problem not loading times. Chris |

For me the headline sucks. I don't think that angry at the guru stuff
is a big attention getter. The problem usually is not the guru, it's the student. Try a different headline that will not alienate so many |
