Default Google Engineer Trashes Dupe Content Discussion

Worth a watch, he covers a lot of the stuff people seem to be quite confused about.;

Infact overall, many people could do worse than paying attention to the Google channel, they give out a lot of solid information direct from the horses mouth.

YouTube - GoogleWebmasterHelp's Channel

It's a page I check regularly..

Awesome post Simon - and it just goes to prove what I've been saying for years, "No one but Google can tell you for certain what they are or are not doing".

Thanks for that Simon. This should be made a sticky or something to give the definitive answer for all the threads about dublicate content.

I too think this was very informative. Sat through it to the end, and I'm the type that tends to be annoyed by too long promotional videos.

Agree that this must be placed somewhere where members can easily come across it.

This company did seem to be penalized by google for duplicate content. Google does not seem to like shopping search engines returning results:

Hi Roy, np.

The amount of misinformation that does the rounds on this topic is ridiculous, as soon as I saw it from the horses mouth I figured that's what needed. Hard for those still sitting on the other side of the argument to argue with Googles own staff.

Aside from anything else people could do a lot worse than actually make the YT Googlepage a part of the education, it's amazing how many people want to spend a fortune on products about how to trick Google into xyz , when you can get amazing quality information , videos, and guides from Google themselves which are free and quite often superior.
