hello folks,

yesterday i purchased a new domain name, and started creating social pages. However i found that somebody has already registered the gmail account and Youtube, but the page has not been updated since 2012 and there is only 1 video. Can you please suggest me how can i contact and ask for the gmail account? Have anybody done it before ?

It's smart to check for availability at gMail and elsewhere before you decide on a domain name.

Having said that, there's nothing that says your email address has to be exactly the same as your domain name. You can change it in a logical way such as . . . domainname + site@gmail dot com.

He's probably learnt that lesson now, but we all gotta start somewhere and the person who never made any mistakes never made anything.

Or some other quote, by someone else I've probably never heard of

Why would you care about a gmail address anyway? Using a free, Google-branded email address looks unprofessional. You now own a domain name. Use it. Make your new email address something@domain.com rather than something-domain@gmail.com or whatever else you were thinking.

I always recommend using NameChk (https://namechk.com/) before buying an authority domain to make sure all the socials are available. Their UI is dope!

You might want to find out the person's name first before contacting him or her directly on this.

    Hope this helps.

I agree with the poster that said use email from your own domain. I would rather have admin@ my domain than mydomain At Gmail. On the other hand you can't get a Youtube channel without a gmail. but the Gmail does not have to be a part of the branding. It could be anything as no one should be seeing it.

IMO use your own domain for your email and not gmail.
I guess you could always email that gmail account and hope they reply.

Try getting a hold of them through youtube! You just stumbled onto a marketing strategy my friend. First what your asking is yea go ahead and contact them and ask what they are doing with it. You can offer to buy it from them as well.

You can can search for videos in your marketplace. Videos that get a lot of daily views an interaction. If you do not see a link in the description you can offer to pay them to place in in for you as well as buy the whole account from them. I have done both and it works good. As with anything its a numbers game.
