Am I on the right track?

Morning,

I'm new to the forum but have known about Warrior forum for quite a while - So I thought I'd sign up!

I'll not go into all the details, but basically I've been an Affiliate Marketer since 2012, making over 1k sales since beginning but never a consistent income. I've always sold clothing - which usually offers a 5% commission. Very often I earn less then £1 per sale - so as you can imagine I need a lot of sales to make a decent amount. Also the competition is huge and to be honest I'm not too interested in fashion so I rarely write content - I (wrongly) thought "More products = More sales = More commission".

I've now set out on a new venture, where I advise people about Affiliate Marketing in the UK and building their first site (The things I can do very easily now after years of practice).

I'm now in the traffic building stage and I wondered if anyone could give me any pointers?

What I've done so far is:
Setup Facebook -
Setup Twitter -

I plan to post articles every other day and retweet a couple times a day. Are there any other methods that I could apply to boost my traffic?

I'm just after some "General" advise from some of the experts on here.

Thanks in advance and I look forward to reading the replies

Cheers
Chris

if you are still promoting clothes then I would also consider setting up a pinterest account

You may want to add Pinterest to your FREE traffic arsenal.

You are setting up a venture to offer advice about starting up in affiliate marketing and you are unsure about how to start a business online.

Maybe you should be looking at your chosen business model...

Sorry I didn't explain too well. I show people how to get up their first wordpress affiliate site, add plugins and themes and what affiliate links are etc. It's aimed at total novies to Affiliate Marketing - I don't focus on targeting traffic when I get to this stage this is when i divert the user to my target Affiliate site and let them take over. To be fair I'm having more success with that then my clothing site. I'm ranked 3rd in bing and yahoo for my target keywords in 5 days.

Try LinkedIn, buddy. Maybe you can find leads in there. BTW, you're on the right track. At least you know you're good and well-experienced in that.

Haha exactly. I've got to admit I've realised quickly content is key. Gone are the days where I just load thousands of products onto a site and sit and hope people find them.

You could boost your traffic through the use of SEO and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn).

As your product is very niche specific, you can try building a facebook group and grow that with users who are interested about your product.

It can be very fruitful for you as you will have targeted niche of facebook users. You can use that group for other uses also.
