PR dropped, visitors increased ???

Hi,

I just noticed today that my blog's PR (pagerank) went from 2 to 0.
But the number of unique visitors seems to have increased in the
last few weeks. What does it mean?

PR is not connected to traffic at all. It's more of how Google looks at your backlinks.

it doesn't mean much really PR isn't related to traffic as Ephrils said. A lot of people get hooked up on Pagerank it would be nice to be page rank 10 so you can shout it from the roof tops but to make money via a sound business online it is not neeede.

Check your logs to see where your traffic is coming from. It may not be Google.

I've had the SAME problem! I went from a PR4 to a 0 for one of my sites, yet my traffic has been solid AND my adsense have nearly doubled... it makes no sense.

I know that PR doesn't affect traffic per se, but it's still odd to me.

I didn't do anything odd with the site, so I'm wondering if Google messed up my page rank in their last update? I tried contacting them to no avail.

Yep, it's true. I need the traffic more than the pagerank.
But advertisers want to see the pagerank before they'll
put ads on a site.

PR has been seen as actually "useless" when Google penalized sites for selling text links. But then again, most people still use it as gauge when determining site authority.

Sometimes I get conflicting results when looking up my PR. Keep looking into it to make sure the value is true. And yes, if you are selling ad space, it could be a disaster.

I dont see what the big deal is about pagerank. My website is number 1 in Google getting loads of traffic and is PR0.

Pagerank means nothing.

The pagerank on my nursing school adsense site dropped from a 3 to a 1 about a month ago. I was crushed...until the next month when I made MORE in adsense than the previous month. And this month seems to be on track to make more as well. I have no idea why, but I'm no longer as freaked out about it.
