Hey Guys,

This is not normal niche that's for sure, but I have a business associate who teaches pole dancing professionally for fun and fitness and runs classes in her studio. She is producing a top notch series of three professional DVD's. (beginner, immediate & advanced.) Her clientele are generally women 20-35yr who want to get fit and like to learn this sort of dance.

We are going to do a product launch and sell the DVD's on one site and also have a membersite site.

As the DVD's won't be complete until December, I thought I'd collecting some ideas since this is not my niche:-)

Look forward to your saucy ideas:-)

  • I just spent $100 on videos for my wife from flirty girl fit. Google them. They run infomercials all the time, but their product is inferior. Basically, it is all hype and packaging. The videos themselves are not good, and give very little workout.

She might not be able to compete with the marketing budget of flirty girl fit, but there is a big market for these types of videos. Plus, Imagine if she could get one female celebrity to endorse her vids.

Since you know the demo you are targeting, look into advertising on facebook using cpm. That demo will recommend products to their peers, so word of mouth traffic should take hold once she has sold a few.

Need any reviews? Seriously, I know what overhyped overpriced chair/pole dancing videos look like, so I can tell you if her product can compete.

Thanks alot for the help. I didn't think of facebook but that's perfect. I think in time that they will do really well. It's by a film maker so it will be high quality. I'll let you know if I need reviews when its complete,

    Thanks again...

Facebook is a great idea. I'd also do a series of how-to articles and videos. A lot of women want to learn this from the privacy of their home instead of a class so would love a little teaser with a 'learn more' link. I'd think of doing an autoresponder and building a list with little tips and mini video previews sent out. Maybe do a free 'lite' version and then sell the full blown version to subscribers.

    Good luck

Do you live in a collge town? If so get some of those girls involved with it - have them promote it to their friends.

What about doing a weight loss challenge with the product and a couple of local girls? Before/After photos, etc

What about a local radio station where you guys give away a couple of free sets of the program at working women's events, power hour, or women only events

What about attending a women's health fair ...

Sorry I didn't have more than 2 minutes to think of these ;-)

Have you considered a series of short video previews, 30 seconds or so. I guess you'd call them teaser videos. Upload a staggered set to youtube & various other video submission sites. By the time December comes around you'll already have a good amount of interest.

Pole dancing and "strippercize" were so popular a few years ago. Carmen Electra's Strippercise was the "hot" workout. And Sheila came out with her S Factor Fitness book with pole dancing which flew off the shelves.

Is it still popular? I am pretty familiar with fitness forums and what is hot and don't see it mentioned much. Hopefully there is a good market for it.

One possibility would be to get involved with the hot fitness forums that discuss and review DVDs. There are a couple of these. Also there is one company that specializes in selling fitness workouts and it would be good if you could get them to pick up the line as they have a very active market.

In addition if you plan to market on Amazon getting some of the top reviewers to review them helps a lot. Just target the right ones. And I think Mr. Marketer's Youtube "teaser" idea is excellent.

Another thing you could do is package them with boa's and sell them for a special price. Boa's are fun, flirty, inexpensive and very lightweight (cheap to ship).
Or you could take the stripper music and make a CD of it and use that as a bonus if someone buys the strip workouts like Jeff Costa did with his strip workouts a few years ago.
