So, you just set up your fancy schmancy landing page and have yourself a pretty little opt in form for your visitors to sign up for your free ebook or whatever... Let's also assume that you don't have a product that you've made yourself. Where do you redirect the user after they've signed into your squeeze? This is a poll, but I don't want to give you options because quite frankly, I don't have them. |

Er..is this a trick question? You should probably send them to the download page for your free ebook (or whatever you promised them for signing up). Frank |

If you're getting them to sign up for a free e-book, then they had better be directed to the download of that free e-book after they opt in. If you're setting up in Aweber, you can designate the page that is displayed as a thank you page after opting in and also the page that is displayed after they confirm their opt in. You can set either one of these pages as your download page. If I want to make sure they confirm, I'll make the first thank you page a note to them to expect a confirmation e-mail - and to click on the link inside. Then, the second thank you page is where you'd provide a link to download the e-book. On the other hand, if you want to make sure you get the e-book in their hands, you can deliver it on the first thank you page - with a reminder to confirm their opt in, because "you'll be giving them more valuable information". |

I've been playing with a lot of my landing pages lately and I've been getting some interesting results. Thanks for the input.

Pretty much exactly what I WAS doing on almost all of my sites. Then, I switched up a few of my sites and changed a little of my thinking. Instead of sending them to a thank you, I sent them directly to an affiliate page. I used the redirect link to just pop my affiliate link in... Then I emailed them the direct DL link after they confirmed. I suppose in retrospect, that left the people that didn't confirm without the giveaway... I'm not sure if I care about that yet though.

In my business, I would never send someone outside my funnel when they are just coming in. However, if my goal was to make commissions rather than building a list, then sending them to a relevant affiliate page is a good idea.

I equate it to an upsell page or a one time offer... or even my own sales page for that matter. Thoughts? Hell, what do I know though, I'm not making a killing online by any means. I appreciate your opinion Kevin. Thanks for chiming in.

| NP. You don't have to have your own product to sell them. You can become the guy they get all their good recommendations from. Just make sure from the very start that you only promote products that you yourself have bought and used, and that you can honestly attest to as a great product. You want to build your list's trust in you from Day 1, so they will trust your recommendations in the future.
