I use an automated article submitter for some of my articles. It lists about 500 directories that it submits to. My findings: in about half of those I do not have an account - either it just would not create it automatically or the confirmation link would not work. (Some I went back and manually created) Down to 250. I have randomly gone through and checked some of the sites that I supposedly submitted to. Results: 1 out of 4, I have accounts but no articles submitted. Down to 200. I have said to myself that even getting 200 (or 100) backlinks would still be a great percentage. Now I've noticed that on most of the article directories that I did have articles submitted, the articles have not been approved. My first articles were submitted the first week in August, over 6 weeks ago. So bottom line after 6 weeks I have about 20 backlinks. Do these numbers ring true for others or is it just my bad luck? Did I pick the wrong article submitter? |

You seem to have an outdated list of article directories. Many people start one then abandon it after it doesn't make them money after a few weeks. There are very few directories even worth submitting to nowadays, certainly not 500 or even 100.

I am speaking of a paid article submitter that does regular updates to their list.

Hey. I would suggest you just scrap that piece of script and start churning out keyword dense articles (300 words) and start posting on efficient article sites like goarticles and articlesbase . Create a unique article and post it to ezine. Once your ezine article gets posted, create an additional backlink towards your ezine articles from the other articles you placed within goarticles and articlesbase . This is will ensure quality article traffic. Have fun~! Edmund |

Appreciate the replies. I have hundreds of articles on EZA and I do use the other big directories for backlinks. BTW over the last week my EZA articles are being approved in less than 4 hours. What I'm trying to find out is if other people who use an automatic article submitter for backlinks have the same type of numbers in getting their articles submitted and approved. Are article submitters all hype and should I be happy with 20 backlinks or did I just purchase the wrong submitter. |
