Site hacked but it seems to be working (more or less) ok

I'm just learning about all this.
My site was hacked by big pharma (the ubiquitous Ciallis).
I deleted an unknown and unauthorized user from my WordPress user section. It's quite possible this is how it was hacked, right?
However there are no "site-hacked messages" from Google, and in Google Search Console (webmaster tools) in the "security issues" sub-section under "Crawl" the message reads "Currently, we haven't detected any security issues with your site's content." Also, there are no warning messages or notifications under "messages" in Google Search Console.
When I type in the URL of the site (booksandmocha.com) everything displays fine.
HOWEVER!!!! When I enter booksandmocha.com.index in the browser bar this is what I get :
The Best Online Pharmacy. Buy Cialis Without Prescription - Orders ...
booksandmocha.com/index-html/
Feb 1, 2017 - booksandmocha.com. A site for lovers of books, coffee, film, art and ideas. booksandmocha.com. Search. Main menu. Skip to primary content.

(this part is ok: Feb 1, 2017 - booksandmocha.com. A site for lovers of books, coffee, film, art and ideas. booksandmocha.com. Search. Main menu. Skip to primary content.

Any suggestions as to how to fix this?

Thanks,
David

No, it wasn't. It may have been hacked by some low-level spammer, but Cialis didn't have anything to do with it.

Why would you or anyone else do that?

Any suggestions as to how to fix this?
    Edit it out.

You might want to delete all users other than yourself. On the dashboard, users -> all users will show you whoever may have set themselves into your site. Then settings -> general settings there's a checkbox for membership that anyone can register. If you uncheck that (so it's blank) then you close that door. I learned that the hard way...
