Default Best offline solutions?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice about offline marketing. I'm creating an eBook package that is really geared towards college students to a large degree, and I really don't want to miss the opportunity to get my product out in an offline format.

I am really on a tight budget, besides the time and everything I put into creating the product and website, as well as setting aside cash for AWeber and E-Junkie for a list and to sell my product, I have virtually no other funds.

So I was wondering if anyone has much experience marketing offline, and any advice for how I could market and advertise at places like Colleges for the cheapest amount possible. I was thinking of handing out flyers, etc. but I really don't know how effective that is?

If only there were people who sell offline marketing materials :-)

In all seriousness go find a couple of college groups on facebook and join them. Also do the same thing with a facebook page. Might also want to check out advertsing in college papers.

If you can tell us more about your product we might be able to help you more.

Oh man! You know what, I didn't even think about Facebook for that. My product is pretty much a workbook for learning and studying more effectively, with some bonuses I'm going to offer also, but that's the bulk of it. It has exercises and things like that, it's just something I'm really into because I used to have such a hard time learning and it's important to me to help others who have the same troubles.

Hello,
my number one step would be to hire a college kid to steer you in the right direction.
Your local college should have a bulletin board for job postings.
Good Luck.

Something new soon.

Let me ask you a serious question ... do you think college students want to buy this? Do you think they are going to spend their money on things besides clothes, cars, food, booze, and getting laid?

I am not trying to be mean but I am asking a serious question.

So say you have this product that would be good for student but they aren't going to buy it. But who will - their parents. So go after them instead.

Also if you can package your study program that they can use your product and get more time to do the above list you might have a chance.

Here's an idea... why not have it made into a paperback
book (cost you about $10 to create one at Lulu.com and
have it mailed to you). Then talk to the manager at the
college bookstore and offer a percentage of each sale?

So you've created a product and now you're going to try to find a way to sell it.

Not good marketing unfortunately.

It works a whole lot better if you find a hungry market you can get easy and economical access to and create a product they want, need and are willing to pay for.

What kind of product is it?

Kindest regards,

Local classified ads, not major metros, but smaller cities. You can often get listed in a monthly or even weekly publication and often times they'll even place your ad online too.
