Default $100 to the Warrior Who Helps Me (VM Fusion/Converter)

I'm sure it's easy, but I'm having some issues with the right steps
to bring my Windows PC over to my Mac.

First I need to set up VM Converter, and I'm stuck at this point.

So, if you have experience and can walk me through by email
to get this so I am successfully running my windows on
my Mac - then $100 will be yours upon me finishing.

Simply post here if you have recently transferred your own PC
into a virtual machine, then onto your Mac with VMFusion.

Thanks!

- John

Hi John

I've done a similar task for one of the schools that I support - I installed VM Fusion on 70 Mac workstations so that they could run some Windows-based educational software.

In my case I created a master image of the Windows workstation with the software application, then distributed it to the other workstations, obviously you only want to make one copy so this step wouldn't be necessary.

I started with a fresh build of Windows XP that I installed under VM Fusion, I then configured it with my software. Not sure if you are considering doing it that way (which I think is the best way from a reliability standpoint) or if you are trying to take an existing PC Workstation and "clone" it under VM Fusion?

Please feel free to PM me if you think that I could be of assistance.

Bill

P.S. For the school installation I never left home,I used GoToAssist to work on the Macs from my home office. If you like I'd be happy to do the same for you.

Thanks for the reply Bill.

I know what I need to do is easy, just that at the moment I need
some sort of server info and password when getting VM Converter
going.

Anyways, if you would like to go back and forth by email tomorrow
then that would be great.

I'll happily send you over $100 once I have successfully transferred
my PC over to my mac.

My email is johnxfactor (at) gmail.com

Why waste the time figuring how to do it yourself
when you can pay for help. I think that is smart!

Well this was one heck of an experience. Bill, I just want to give you a
public THANK YOU for your time and technical skills.

Speaking with you and watching you take my Mac and get Windows running
without a hitch was outstanding.

I was more than happy to pay you for your work today.
