...lead generation business. i have opt-in questions.

i have been contracted by a partner with a casual idea. i want to test it and scale if possible.

lead gen is a pretty simple concept. build a site, convert traffic and business will buy the lead. in this specific industry lead would equal name, phone number, email and state they live in...

my question is about the site build. in terms of conversion, what would you think converts better:

1. a small squeeze page with power full offer/great copy/call to actions/headlines/perfectly placed opt in box and no need to scroll down?

2. a mini site that promotes authority on a given subject, multiple pages, lots and lots of content

3. a small one page site with all content on one page, continuous scroll with pics videos testimony...

i just want to convert traffic into providing me information. i dont have a product to sell. i dont have emails loaded ready to fire. i am not an affiliate.

    Here is the truth.

    No one knows.

Build all 3, test all 3, find out which one converted best and there is your answer.

Not trying to sound like a dick here, but that is the truth.

Feelings and opinions mean very little, hard data on the other hand is definitive.

I've built pages before that I thought looked like garbage and tested them against pages I thought were beautiful and sometimes the terrible pages converted WAY better.

Test, test, test and test, that is how you will know for sure what works best.

Although others may have their own views, my suggestion is 1.

Get their name and email first by offering a simple 5 page PDF report offering whatever information on your niche.

Your web page does not have to be gorgeous.

Just a catchy headline, bullet points or video of what is about and why people should get your report.
