Help with "call to action"

Hi- I am a newbie doing my own marketing....I could use some help to make my call to action stronger. Right now it says:

"Contact us for a free quote or space analysis" in large print and
"Or simply to learn more about our product offerings and storage solutions." in small print.

I think we need a call to action that is more compelling from a text perspective and maybe graphically too. The website is www.bradyl.com. I would be incredibly grateful for any advice!

I reviewed competitors CTA per a previous posters suggestion....Do any of these sound better than what I have?

    Linz,

Your call to action, IMO, should focus on getting the viewer to do just one specific thing (take one action) and it should be very compelling - giving something to the prospect that is urgently needed, highly valued, or that solves a problem that is nagging at the prospect.

Right now, your call to action has three alternatives:
    • A free quote, or
    • A space analysis, or
    • Learn more about our products
Personally, I don't find anything very compelling about any of these. If I were a consumer shopping storage solutions I would think to myself ... I can put this off and come back to this site later if I find the time (which I probably never will). Make your CTA something that is urgent, something that the prospect will lose out on if he doesn't grab it right now.

You've got to develop a "hook" that will motivate the viewer to action right now and at least get him/her on your mailing list before he leaves the site so you can contact him in the future with additional marketing.

What your "hook" might be ... you will have to determine that based on your "best customer profile." What solutions are your typical customers seeking? How can you help to alleviate their pain or unmet needs with something you can give away in exchange for their contact information?

What good is your advertising and marketing if folks come to your site and then leave without doing a thing? What have you gained for your time, effort, and money spent of trying to get new customers?

Just one other comment. Your slide show cycles through the images too quickly. There is not enough time to view the pictures and read the several lines of text on each slide. I feel like I'm being rushed and that your site is not prospect "friendly" in that regard. If people coming to your web site for the first time don't find it comfortable, or if it's confusing, or boring, (or "rushed" in my case) they will be gone before they ever get to your call to action.

Just my quick impressions. I do like your overall site design layout.

    Good luck,

    Steve

Thanks so much for the input.

My customers want a better, cost effective alternative to other products that are out there (i.e. WireCrafters).

What I really want them to do is call or email me so that I can give them a free quote (which is either based on them sending architectural drawings or we do an onsite visit). Should it be as simple as "Contact us now for your free quote" Unfortunately for me, there really is no motivation to take immediate action, as the quote is always free. Maybe I should phrase it as if the quote is only free "for a limited time"? That just doesnt sound right to me.....

And thanks for the input about the slides cycling to quickly- I will definitely slow that down! There is 1 product that we want to push above all others (the storage units with the blue doors). Would you recommend getting rid of the other 2 pics and just have a static image of those storage units if that is our primary product?

      Thanks again!

My simple advise is copy what is working. Take some time to review squeeze and sales pages that you can find for top vendors. Search for products in your niche on Google, visit these pages and do your research. Put together a compelling call to action that uses the best words you find from your research that would motivate you to click through.

In fact you could make 10 examples from your research and ask a group of friends or here on Warrior to suggest which one they would be motivated to click through on given that they pretended to be interested in your proposition.

    Hi:

It looks like your business is in a few businesses.

Self storage is part of your business. Get ideas from the big 3 public storage companies and use similar squeeze pages as they do. Perhaps add a exit pop-up before people get ready to leave your main page.

You offer a space analysis and solution for residential customers too I believe. California Closets is one of the top companies in that space. Check out what is working for them on their website and do something similar.

    Good luck,

    Lindsay,

Your call to action needs to be far larger and only one item, not free quote or space analysis (by the way space analysis sounds really boring). The problem you have on the homepage is the rolling video that already catches the eye so the call to action needs to be bolder. So big arrow pointing to a flashing nu or CALL NOW for extra space fast - number or something like that.

Maybe if you put "Click here for a FREE QUOTE" in a brightly coloured button beside the other button that contains your phone number, it would work a bit better on your page. Right now, it's a little bland. Also, by getting them to click somewhere for a free quote and request it by email rather than by phone, you accomplish two things: one, you give them a couple choices as to how they can reach you; and two, you can begin to collect email addresses to start doing some email marketing in the future. Hope that helps.

Just split test the above recommendations if you can you will find one that works...I also find with "quote" style call to actions if you say something like "It Only Takes 2 Minutes" or 60 Seconds or whatever it helps....people want their stuff FAST

    Hey Liz,

One thing that I've learned from successful marketers is that if you want to be successful you need to find a problem that people are having, find a solution to that problem, offer the solution and provide assistance to those who cannot do it themselves. In your case you offer storage solutions. Clearly this is something that clients will have a hard time implementing themselves on a a large scale. In perusing your site I noticed that you mention in one of your slides, "Let us uncover storage opportunities in underutilized spaces". A good idea would be to create a downloadable PDF giving clients tips of how they can uncover these areas for themselves. Put a monetary value on the PDF but tell them that they can download their copy free by clicking. Or you can offer a discount to your services on the PDF but they have to download it to take advantage of it. Once they click you can direct them to a squeeze page where they would have to enter their email address to download the PDF. Now they're on your email list. You can now market to them sequentially. It usually takes 4 contacts before making a sale on a high ticket item. Once they're on your email list you can develop a relationship that may end up in a sale down the line. Hope that helps.

You can go for lines like -

Utilize your small space with <brand name>. Click for a free quote now.
    or
    Big things in small space
    or
    Smart space storage solutions..

You can write anything. What I want to say is include your core service in the tag line.

    All the best..
