I'm unclear on why I (should) need this (video-related software)...

There's a warrior selling a video-related software -- but his sales page foes not make it obvious (to me) WHY I should need this. It's called easyflv. I tried to pm him but his account is set up not to accept pms.

Why should I need a product like that -- what's wrong with simply hosting my vids on youtube, etc.? That way I don't have to think about formats, conversions, etc. -- no?

Please advise.

    you can host your videos on youtube and other sites such metacafe.com.....

    I'm not exactly what his product offers but you use youtube.com and other sites. Personally I think there better in terms of S.E.O

    What if you have a private members site, and only want members to view your materials? Once you put it on youtube, even if it is set to "private" you still give youtube permissions to do what they want.

    There's a general thought you should hold in mind when thinking about buying products.

    If you don't know why you need something, then it isn't for you (at least not at this point).

    Saves a lot of hassle and spending money that's not necessary.

    Have you tried to load a YouTube video during business hours lately? - It takes over 3 minutes over broadband. Also, all the embedded videos show other videos to go to at the end. If you want fast loads, and the user to stay on your site, then you would want to have your own player.

    Some of the reasons:
    When you upload a video to a video sharing site you must follow the rules of that site. Like, there are types of content you cannot upload, and your video cannot exceed 10 minutes. They also display ads to your users.
