ProfitBuilder 2.0 Review

I see that ProfitBuilder 2.0 has just launched. The last thread on this is 3 years old so I'm not going to rehash it. I personally own InstaBuilder 2.0 but this package is looking pretty good and I'm giving it due diligence because intro pricing is pretty good.

However, I'm noticing a few things are missing from the salespage. Anyone know the answers to these?

  1. They include 12 months of support/updates. I'm assuming that, like InstaBuilder and all other plugins these days, all supports and updates come to an abrupt end at the 12 month mark leaving me with an unsecured WP installation unless I continue the annual payment. Anyone know the cost after the 12 months is up?
  2. I've read that the 1.0 version of the Builder was using this the Frontend Builder plugin from CodeCanyon. It still looks surprisingly similar according to the demo on the salespage. Anyone know if that is still the case?
  3. Anyone have more info on the SmartCart feature? Will it require an SSL license? Where will payment be handled exactly? I'm assuming he's building his own payment system since that makes financial sense on his end.
  4. Any past experiences with support from his team?

A link would have helped, right? Sorry 'bout that.

Yes, that's the one. He uses the "ProfitBuilder" naming on the salespage so I wanted to respect that wording.

I have a 1.0 developer's license and have been receiving emails about the new 2.0 "upgrade"

They include 12 months of support/updates. I'm assuming that, like InstaBuilder and all other plugins these days, all supports and updates come to an abrupt end at the 12 month mark leaving me with an unsecured WP installation unless I continue the annual payment. The upgrade email I received said we get a complimentary upgrade (with new EULA's) and said we have to pay after 12 months: "...you get the full benefit of everything we do at a tiny comparative price per year of just $97."

It also said that not paying again wouldn't effect a site, it would only keep you from getting support or upgrades.

It was definitely based off of Frontend Builder. FEB creator even said as much in the comments section. I went with PB because a developer's license was less than 2 copies of FEB.

Just from the sales video, PB 2.0 looks like 1.0 except with blue colored widgets instead of gray. The only major difference seems to be the SmartCart, which connects with woocommerce, and the "sales funnel" building. I didn't pick up anything about SD creating his own payment system, the sales video mentioned paypal and stripe being used. And there's already documentation for 1.0 on how to build a sales funnel:

Any past experiences with support from his team?
Yes. I've heard awful stories about SD's support, but I've always received fast responses that resolved issues quickly. The first was when I bought Rapid Mailer and learned that I could have gotten it as part of the PB extended pack (don't think it's available for 2.0) and wanted a refund. The 2nd time was when I learned that Rapid Mailer on all of my sites had suddenly deactivated and I needed a new license code. Support not only answered fast, but apologized and gave me a complimentary wp plugin. (It was basic and probably something cheap or free and I never used it, but it was still a nice touch).

There's also a ton of videos on how to use 1.0:
    https://imsuccesscenter.com/customer...profit-builder

With that sort of knowledge base, and with the sales video showing 2.0 working just like 1.0 but with blue colors, I'm inclined to think that it's just the same product. 1.0 did receive periodic updates, but never any additional features and never any additional templates. There was some promise of coming out with new templates in the future, but that never happened. I never used the templates anyway - because so many other people did.

FEB hasn't been updated in nearly a year. The creator says it is locked on a stable version: https://codecanyon.net/item/frontend...10338/comments

SD's products always seem to be ripoffs of other people's work. PB is FEB, Tribulant claimed Rapid Mailer was a ripoff of their newsletter plugin, azon authority is supposedly made from Prosociate. I do like PB and I use it on a ton of websites, but I bought a developer's license for $68 on the condition of free future updates. The original sales page said this

Are There Any Monthly Fees or Hidden Fees With This AWESOME System?
No, we do not charge any monthly fees, just a one-time cost and you can pick the right package that suits your needs
So that's annoying. I'm all for developers being able to continue supporting their work and I certainly pay yearly for some software. But I don't appreciate buying a product under a certain agreement and then it being relabeled "2.0" and forcing me to have to pay for it again when it's the same product.

Some cause-oriented hackers recently hacked one of my websites. So I researched what they're about and then donated a large sum of money to the entity they hate the most.

The next time they hack one of my websites I'm going to donate DOUBLE.

Support just replied last night with the following response:

"Hi Jesus; Renewal will be $97.00 per year to continue to receive any and all updates and support each year"

Ok, so I wasn't crazy. I thought it was the same backend as FEB but with some different colors.

Thanks for the insight into their past projects, your experience and their support times. A lot of WP sellers eventually realized that one-time payment plugins were great for initial sales but prevented them from continuously updating a product. So now everyone is going with this yearly renewal model and past promises are being left behind.

I think I'll pass on this one since it sounds like the same product with only a few extra bells and whistles (and $19/mth template club).

Anyone have thoughts or experience on the new Insta-Suite by Suzanna Teresia of instaBuilder?

I have unlimited access for IB and very nice software. Seems she's partnered up with Neil Nappier for Insta-Builder. There's many more features built in to IS but it's now hosted on "their servers" and of course this time w a monthly fee and increase in price.

Would appreciate some feedback if anyone is using it.
