Print Media Vs Digital Media - Whats your thoughts?
Newspapers used to be an essential must once. It was amazing how news could go to print and copies mass produced in a matter of hours. Today all we have to do is look on our mobile devices, with their push notifications to be alerted of news as it happens. Newspapers still work in coffee shops, but it really is yesterdays news.
Paper catalogues are very costly to update, where as digital e-commerce shopping can be updated instantly and include online reservations. These catalogues have now become apps that we carry on our smart devices.
In many ways print still works, as there are still some people who hate going online. People will often opt for a paper book rather than a Kindle because they prefer to hold something that feels and smells real. Greeting cards will often get the vote because it feels more personal and meaningful to show people you care by a card they can open. This is open to debate of course, so that why I have created a survey of 10 questions that tries to get a better understanding of how consumer behaviour is today and where print stands in this ever changing digital world.
If you have any specific thoughts on this please commentI am currently conducting a research study into how we now use print and digital media. Print was the clear and only winner in the market for so many years, however things have changed in recent years with the birth of the Internet. We now read the news and shop differently than we used to. Gone are the days when we had to do our shopping in bricks and mortar stores. Its now a social choice, but you are likely to find most things cheaper online.
