site flipping help please

Hi guys I have a website that is listed on the 1st page of google
Results 1 - 10 of about 1,260,000

It is listed as #6, disney princess doll dot net

I am thinking about
selling it but I want to make sure that I get an appropriate price for it, how can I go about finding how much my site is worth? It's a start up site...

Any ideas?

Should I hold onto it for 1 month and then sell it or what are your ideas, thanks...

here is a quick link, it is by no means a professional evaluation, but you can get a general idea, based on the general points of a website.
Website Value Calculator - What is your website worth?
I checked out the site, and from what I see, nothing on the site is really monetizing it. the ads aren't relevant to the products. overstock ads selling mattresses, google ads promoting photography in orlando. i see if you click on an image it takes you to amazon, but no indication that the photo needs to be clicked on.
anyhow, good content overall for the product, and with Christmas coming, it could increase in value for someone interested in that niche.
It doesnt hurt to try and sell it!
I belong to DNforum.com and is a great place for domain name info, selling, buying, etc

Thank you very much for this information, based on the evaluation, my site is basically worthless as a start up site, kind of discouraging seeing as though i thought it might have been worth something more than what I paid for it seeing as though I did get a chance to market it up to the first page of google, but as you noticed as I did the ads that are being showed through adsense are in no relation to the actual website itself which is very sad! maybe thats why nobody is advertising in this niche! but nevertheless thank you for your help!

It's not just about holding on to it for 1 month. What you
should do is PROMOTE the heck out of it to get it REAL
high quality consistent traffic after 1 to 3 months, then
you have the chances of selling it to the right buyers
for a premium price. I call this "premium flipping" and it
works VERY WELL, especially if you can really get the
site receiving high quality consistent traffic before
    thinking of premium flipping it,

Yeah I appreciate this advice as I think soon we will be going into the christmas shopping zone and with my high rankings for multiple keywords many people might be able to hit the site and promotion sounds very good. I guess my next thing would be to get a better monetization out of this site as obviously adsense wont do the trick here, i mean if they are looking for a doll and the adsense shows coupons, that doesn't make any sense at all! premium flipping, that's something i'll have to read up on, thanks again!

There are about 5 characteristics that you can use to determine a site's worth. In order of value, here they are:

    1. Profitability
    2. Traffic (level & type)
    3. Age
    4. Growth Potential
    5. Resalable Potential

With these in mind, let's check out how much your site is worth:

    1. Profit? None I'm guessing - this is the main pricing meter for sites. If you have a highly profitable site, you can command as much as 24X monthly revenue for it.

    2. Traffic? Don' know - the more traffic the better, because any buyer will be able to intantly turn that traffic into ad sales or whatever, recouping some investment back. Also, the quality and source of traffic is important. You've got a top Google listing, which will add about $20 or so to its value. It doesn't look like a profitable keyword to me so the value it adds is pretty minimal

    3. Age? Your site is startup. That makes it virtually worthless because the G ranks could slip any day. Investors are looking for established sites

    4. Growth Potential? If you get some more rankings and boost your traffic base, it has a fair amount of growth in it but the work involved would make it worthless to an investor.

    5. Resaleable Potential (flip potential)? Can the site be flipped for a profit if the buyer changes their mind? I'm guessing no.

So from those 5 point, I'd personally say the site is worth about $20-$25. However, if you psot most stats I'll probably be able to help you out more

Don't think about it like that - just focus about turning it into a profitable project.

How much did it cost to get created? If it was like $250 or even $500, then work to make that much ack from the site.

The site is for Disney Princess Dolls, right? Well make sure you cash in at Christmas then. Why don't you put a little bit of effort into writing some articles like "Where To Get A Disney Princess Doll For Christmas" and then point the traffic to your site.

On your site, put up a bunch of Amazon Ads or Ebay ads for Disney Princess Dolls. You'll get clicks and sales and more importantly - BUILD YOUR ASSET.

The more the site makes each month exponentially increases its value. So you just ned to keep writing a bunch of articles to get traffic to it

Yes I appreciate this advice as I was planning on useing the site flip method I had learned about to do a quick flip with a start up site, but going with that business model and not really getting a hungry niche or desperate niche makes marketing or selling this type of site, well rather hard i would think, come christmas time i think this site will do really well once i can monetize it correctly...

I will try to use that approach of writing articles and submitting them to different places, as I actually had the 5 articles that are on there written for me as I do not like writing articles myself a whole lot...

thanks for the advice i'll keep working on it, side note to self, before trying to do another site flip, think of a better business model or better niche

Seriously - just write 5 articles and submit them to Ezine. Youll get a bunch of views and that will give you more encouragement.

Then nearer Christmas time, just pump out like 50 articles or something and you'll get pletny of sales, making the site worth a hell of a lot.

As a startup without revenue, it wouldn't sell for much unless you find someone really interested in that niche. Do you have an Amazon Associates acct? Seems like there would be a lot of Princess Dolls on Amazon to sell ... and an Amazon carousel would be very targeted ads. It's difficult for a prospect to visualize monetizing the site if you don't add targeted ads to it. Some articles and other backlink promotions will most likely put it back on front page. A lot of new sites get on front page of Google temporarily and then settle someplace else.

Yes I have an amazon associates account that I just set up and it seems as though it is getting clicks to it which is great! Conversion is not there yet but nevertheless its on the way! I just punched out a quick article and submitted it back to ezine articles, its my first article that I have done a submission on in years, so i think in about 7 days it should go live... I'm currently using Angela's and Pauls back links to start promoting the website back to google front page hopefully, 80 links to work with should keep me plenty busy...

Do most people submit their articles just to ezinearticles or other places as well?
thanks for all your help I really appreciate this
