    Hi Kevin,

    could you elaborate on:

    - what your currently doing to marketing your HVAC business (I'm assuming it's Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning?)
    - what have you tried (failures / success)

A little more description about your business goes a long way. It would be ideal to identify if your'e a HVAC service provider (ie. Installations etc..) or a distributor of products, are you targeting residential or commercial etc etc...

My company is a residential service, install, and maintenance business. Right now the extent of my advertising is Craigslist and word of mouth.

Thx @WFMarcus for replying. Until now I have not really tried much. I receive calls weekly from the likes of Angie list, Dex Media, and mantra.
I just paid a "one time fee" to a company to get a Google Listing. But now they want me to pay thousands to get my info on the above sites and like 70 more. They are telling me that will help me get ranked and more visible. Sounds good, and I'm willing to spend the money, just want to make sure I ain't getting duped. Thx for any input.

Shouldn't you be looking at their reviews? Talking to current and past customers of theirs?

And, of course, get a detailed plan of what they'll do.

Best way to market your business online?

Drop the best and do a bunch of good ones:
get reviews on yelp, manta, google business (make sure your profiles are complete) and other such sites

Do SEO (if you rank for main keywords + city, you will get business, even if Google says nobody searches by those keywords)

This is not online but can have (should?) have an online component: locate owners of buildings that are too small to have a full time person taking care of the building and send them postcards/email messages. You might want to do the same with property management companies... For when their handyman's just not good enough.

Call every customer from the last year, offer them the CASH for a new job from a referral. You only pay when you get a new job, your customers are one of the best sources of new business.

You claim to be willing to spend the money, best bet, spend it on mouth to mouth referrals. Rinse and repeat.
