My knowledge goes so far with scipts and databses etc. I'm wondering is it easy for me to replicate my Butterfly marketing install to a sub directory on my domain? Thanks Mark |

Usually, any script can be installed again in a subdir - you just need to create a new database for it to avoid messing around with the original install.

It seems I misread your OP. By "replicating" you mean to create an identical copy of your BFM script installed at example.com in another location like example.com/subdir/ ? Why would you want that? Anyway, regardless of why you want to do it - it is possible. 1. Create a new database for the new install 2. Export the tables from the existing DB amd import them into the new DB 2a. In the settings table find the row where id#19 is and edit it to have the new url (http://example.com/subdir) 3. Copy all the files and folders from your existing install to the new location In theory it should work. |

in theory it should but in reality it wouldn't. the settings are location specific. the database cannot be shared. what are you trying to do? |

If you just want to move it, it's simple, but I'll need to check what settings need to be changed. If you want to copy it, follow the directions in The Pension Guy's post |

Actually it is possible to use a prefix and use the same DB, but I would not recommend it due to the use of resources on a server, unless you have your own rack, but there is no reason you cannot do it, Most of the time with average usage you can share a DB, but if you have any serious usage, it is best to use a separate DB |

I believe you need to tell BF the base directory. So, don't forget to check your BF config (Through the Admin).
