Hi! I am hoping someone can help me with this....I posted in the Wordpress.org support forums, but no one seems able to help. I have a client who has a Wordpress blog - it is up to date, and the blog looks perfectly fine. But, for some reason, all of a sudden, the CSS doesn't appear to be working in her dashboard area. All there is is the grey background, and blue links all down the left hand side of the page. The plugins are all the same as have been used for a couple of months already - it just seems to have happened for some reason. I am not sure when she did the last update - if that has something to do with it - but am waiting to hear back from her. Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix this? Sometimes there are 4-5 lines of error messages at the top of the page: Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/jordanag/public_html/blog/wp-includes/http.php on line 1788 Warning: gzuncompress() [function.gzuncompress]: data error in /home/jordanag/public_html/blog/wp-includes/http.php on line 1793 Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/jordanag/public_html/blog/wp-includes/http.php on line 1788 Warning: gzuncompress() [function.gzuncompress]: data error in /home/jordanag/public_html/blog/wp-includes/http.php on line 1793 Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /home/jordanag/public_html/blog/wp-includes/http.php on line 1788 Warning: gzuncompress() [function.gzuncompress]: data error in /home/jordanag/public_html/blog/wp-includes/http.php on line 1793 Does that mean anything to anyone? I would really appreciate any help you could give me! Thanks! Marie |

This might help: WordPress › Support Error when upgrading to WP2.8 (read the whole thread to figure out which solution you need, depending on WP version) |

Have you checked if all your plugins are up to date? When I updated my WP blog last time, I got similar errors.I fixed it by disabling all plugins and then activating them one by one to see which plugin did not work anymore.

Uncheck all plugins and see if the error is still there... probably it's a plugin messup.

absolutely right...plugins can cause headaches for sure. I agree with the 2 prior posters: Deactivate and activate plugins one by one to pinpoint the plugin causing the glitch. the CSS missing could be an incomplete WordPress core update? Was the update done manually via FTP or by using the one-click upgrade from within the WordPress dashboard? |

Thanks for all your replies! I deactivated and reactivated all plugins - but it still didn't work, so I went ahead and did as suggested in the thread that Pension Guy pointed me to - and did a complete manual reinstall. And, that seemed to do the trick - so I guess something was just missing in the initial upgrade. It seems that there were quite a few with this problem - but no one was really sure what to do to fix it over at the support forums. Once again - the Warrior Forum comes to the rescue!! I should remember to always come here first ![]() Thanks for the help - that is one less headache for me tonight!! Marie |
