Default A series of unfortunate events with PayPal

Hi Warriors!

I'm a bit irritated by what happened yesterday. It's got something to do with my paypal account.

First, I had a lot of trouble getting debit cards and all just to get my paypal account verified. I now have the debit card, yet I'll still have to get all the necessary proof of address etc. etc. etc. just to prove who I am.

Second, since I can't withdraw yet on my account I used my wife's PP to accept payment and buy some stuff. A few days ago it was all going smoothly, I was able to withdraw via my wife's account and I was also able to transact online. However, yesterday we received a letter from paypal saying my wife's account was under review. Today when I tried transferring money to the local banks here paypal rejected the transaction.

What I did is immediately provided them with proof of address (all of our billings is under my wife's name). But they still haven't lifted the review status. I'm a bit irritated and worried because I have bills to pay...Have anybody had the same problem with PP. How long does it usually take for them to review that the account and let it run smoothly again?

Thanks,

Omar Diaz

Omar,
I think it really depends. I suggest you call them on the phone, stay very calm and professional and explain your situation completely.

Ugh, this is one of my gripes about Paypal. They seem to be a necessary evil, though.

Try calling, speak to their supervisor, set up a conference call with your wife if you can.

In future, I'd remove any balance in the account to the bank as soon as it arrives...

In all that you do, know your True INTENT...

I have had past issues but a quick phone call and they got it resolved within a day or two. For all the good things that PayPal provides, there are a few instances when things don't go well. Hang in there.

I agree. Just call them. I usually have good luck with their support.

As so many have said, giving them a call is usually a good thing, just stay calm and you can get a lot done, I have rarely had to make more than one call.

Never any issues here, probably since I'm in the US.

Give them a call and hopefully things will get worked out quickly.

Thanks warriors

From the common consensus, I think giving them a call will resolve this issue.

All Success!

It's seems easier if you're in the US, otherwise they treat most others like potential fraudsters

I've had two annoying PayPal situations over the last seven years. In both cases I experienced the dreaded "account freeze".

One was related to my father-in-law, eBay and an auction involving a ceramic squirrel. Don't ask.

The other was after I added three gmail addresses to the account at one time. That raised a warning flag at PayPal headquarters, too.

In both cases, it took nothing more than a single phone call to rectify the situation.

I know that many people have major issues with PayPal. I'm sure PayPal commits its fair share of blunders. However, my personal experience has been pleasant. The people with whom I've dealt there have been reasonable and capable of fixing things very quickly.

Follow the advice above--give them a ring. It's worked for me.
