I know. The title is a little off but.. I'm in Market Samurai now doing the SEO Comparison and I realized that a new domain I bought a few weeks ago shows to be 5 years old. If the domain expired and I bought it pretty quick after expiration (don't know the exacts) would google miss the expiration and hence give me 'love' for an aged domain? |

If they still think its 5 years old then yeah; just make sure you put some actual content on the site or it wont make a difference anyway...

I know that if you buy an expiring domain from GoDaddy's tdnam.com auction site... it keeps its age. I'm not sure about buying it after it has completely expired. |

| I find that you can actually. One of my more successful domains is one that I bought off of namescheap after it expired.

Nice! Well in that case I have a 5yr old domain with 6 back links. The other domains in my niche are between 9 and 13 years old (for those domains above the fold in google SERPs).
