If you want to write a high quality article of 250 words in 5-7 minutes? YES!! only 5-7 minutes maybe this thread will help you. In this article I'm going to reveal a simple trick to use WIKIPEDIA for your own benefits as it's one of the most trusted and authority website for most people.

Step 1: Create a multi-purpose article introduction template
This template can be used for any keywords that you're targeting. Every time you want to write an article, use it

Ex:
A lot has been said on (your keyword of 1 or more words) and it's power to help others to (main benefit of keyword in 2-3 words). (your keyword) is used in many ways and can be seen in (2-3 examples of your keyword benefits). Before I continue further, let us look into the definition of (your keyword) given by the web's biggest online encyclopedia, Wikipedia:

Step 2: Type something like the following and..

Definition:
(Copy paste a few key definition given by Wikipedia in less 30-50 words)

Step 3: Copy paste a few key points given by Wikipedia and just re-write it in your own words.

The key points can be anything. Examples, benefits, advantages, disadvantages, or anything related to the keywords

Let's say your keyword is "Internet marketing"

Most probably I'll focus on the advantages section. Here's how I'll re-write the key points:

Original points from WIKIPEDIA:

My points:

Internet marketing is extremely cheap compared to the ratio of cost against the reach of the target customers or market. You can reach a wide target market for a small fraction of traditional advertising budgets and get more profits.

Almost all aspects of an Internet marketing campaign can be traced, measured, and tested. The advertisers can use a variety of methods such as pay per impression, pay per click, pay per play, or pay per action.

The outcome of your online marketing campaigns can be measured and tracked immediately because online marketing initiatives usually require web visitors to click on an advertisement, visit a website, and perform a targeted action such as signing in for a particular email class.

Internet marketing is growing faster than other types of media because of the use of web analytics tools to track the response of a particular online campaign.

Step 4: Drag the conclusion till you reach 250 words

Ex:
Hope the information that I've given above on (keywords) will be useful for you. However I still believe that you've to do your homework by reading more reliable and high quality products available online.

Step 5: Use the power of outrageous marketing in your resource box.

I learned this from Bill Glazer and I've personally been seduced by a lot of articles that used this technique. I'm slowly starting to use this.
Ex:

Want to ooze with 100 WATT energy and BOOST your performance by 1000%? Click this..

Want to turn someone into a living ZOMBIE by hypnotizing them instantly? Click this..

Here's a sample article that I'll write by using his technique:

A lot has been said on internet marketing and it's power to help others to to make money online and capture profits. Internet marketing is used in many ways and can be seen in online advertisements and ). Before I continue further, let us look into the definition of internet marketing given by the web's biggest online encyclopedia, Wikipedia:

    Very helpful indeed.

Though, just a few things that I do:

Have your last sentence 'meld' in with the contents of your resource box. By this I mean have it continue as though the resource box is part of the article, not an advertising area.

Make the first thing in the resource box a link. People are more likely to click it that way.

I make it my job to try and add atleast another 5 words to the sentence I'm rewriting. So if the original had 13 words, I'd want my re-write to have at least 18.

    etc.

I know they may not be 'kick-ass' little techniques but it's just something I do that helps me achieve better CTR, and more words to the sentence.

Cheers for the article too. Some stuff I'm definetely going to take from it.

    -Aidan.

P.S: Damn this post sounds spammy xD.

have you split test this? It is something I had been doing recently to some good success, guessing a couple of percentage point increases on my CTR, but I have only done guesswork and 'feeling' so far... planning testing it properly in the next week or so.

If you have tested it any findings would be great, if you're the same as me and only gone on 'feeling' so far thats fair enough - there's only so many things you can test at any one time!

not at all, even just that one hint may be very useful to people

Great original post too, a template can save a lot of time. Though if I am writing a series of articles I will cut and paste research from a number of sources, not just wiki, and give myself a good variety to help keep things fresh (if only for me, I need some interest when writing just to keep me going! Plus keeping things more accurate).

Yes I have tested this actually. But with 2 seperate articles, on EZA.

The one with the link first got a 55% CTR (Yes, massive). The other got 10% CTR. Both have very similar views.

        I think that's pretty conclusive. =].

My only concern here is the fact that anyone can post anything to Wikipedia and unless it is challenged it stands as fact. I have found many inaccuracies in their information throughout the past year or so and that is why I have stopped using it as a reference. There is nothing worse than posting information that you are supposed to be an expert on and finding out it was inaccurate.

However, that being said, there are still many sites such as the online encyclopedia that can be used in much the same way and you know that the information is accurate so I am still willing to give this method a try.

    Thanks for the tip.

That's not a bad idea, it's a play on snippet marketing that I've seen before.

I definitely like being reminded to jazz up my author resource box though.

A show of hands of those of you who write an article and by the time you get through the title and the keywords, you just write a quick author link, without much thought?

Hehe. I find it easier to write the resource box DIRECTLY after writing the article. To keep that fluidity up, and make the resource box look as though it's part of the article.

In-fact, sometimes I just grab the last paragraph of an article, change it a little to make it more action oriented, add my links and be done with it =].

Good news, still going to do it properly myself but always useful having other peoples results to refer to

I used to suffer that problem, especially as I like to do my writing in offline 'batches' of 20 or so before uploading them to directories. 20 or so resource boxes can be a real bind.

That was until I hit on the idea of making my offline article writing more like 275 words and making sure that I used my keywords in the last paragraph, meaning that I could use that paragraph as a resource box that had my keywords for anchor text AND flowed naturally.

That works very well, especially when combined with the 'first word' suggestion made earlier. The outrageous claim resource box is certainly an interesting idea that I would like to test when I had finished testing the first word link method.

Wikipedia have just announced that they are going to tighten up on submissions by having moderators.

The openness has always bothered me in respect of accuracy and this has now been proved over the time.
