Email marketing seems like a good choice for long term success. That way you can sell your current ebook to whoever is on your list now, write another, sell that one and the follow on ebooks... and anyone who joins your list later can be offered each one you've already created one by one over time.

The problem with marketing most "ebooks" is that they're priced too low to profitably use paid traffic. That leaves only "free" and low-cost traffic methods.

Therefore... probably the easiest way to market an ebook is to start a blog based on the topic of the ebook (to attract traffic via SEO) and then sell it in the sidebar of the site.

(Of course, there are other "free" and cheap traffic sources. However, the real question is: Can you target your specific niche market with those methods?)

John is right on this although th op didn't explain if the ebook is given away for free or is sold.

Either way you can't rely only on promoting one ebook as business strategy. Depending on the target the op set, this can be the beginning for a bigger sale funnel.

Yes there are many ways to promote an ebook, both free an paid though we all know to well that the money is i'm the back end of the sales funnel in place.

Even if we list all these methods here for the op i would encourage the op to define the purpose for promoting the ebook.

    A few ideas:

    - do a 1 day free giveaway on Kindle, blitzing the eBook to your email list, your Facebook Groups and G Plus Communities related to free or premium eBooks
    - write a blog post about it; promote post on bookmarking sites and social media
    - reach out to friends in your niche 1 to 1 to ask for downloads and reviews, boosting your profile on Amazon
    - write the next eBook

There are several ways to promote your eBook.
    • If you are using Kindle publishing, you could use KDP select to promote your book.
    • You can post a link to your book in forums, Facebook groups related to your niche.
    • You could contact bloggers in your niche and ask them to promote your book to their readers.
    • Write a guest post in those blogs/sites and ad a link to your eBook in your author box.
    • If you have more than one book, cross promote them by adding a link to the end of the book.
    • Create an email list of your readers by giving away a free bonus or a chapter of your book for free. Send a mail to this list when you publish your new book.
