Default how do I make a strikethrough for my letters?

I noticed that in some threads, members are able to do a strikethrough on their words. I'm wondering how do they go about doing it since there's no function or a strikethrough button in our message template. Pointers anyone? Appreciate it.

The html code for a strike through is just <STRIKE> </STRIKE>, in truth I've never thought about it, but they could add it to the html formatting here

Did that once. It doesn't seem to work. Haha.

Hi,

However, research shows that the strike feature could be turned on in the BB code in a matter of seconds if Allen wanted to do so.

If it was working, the BB code would be [strike]this would have a line through it[/strike]

The other option is [s]this[/s], but that's not enabled either, and might also be a shorthand for the regular [strike] tag, so they may work in conjunction with one another.

I don't think the [del]delete[/del] code will do it either.

Does a strike-through formatted in open office or ms word cut and paste properly to a forum post?

I did this experiment in MSWord: Does a strike-through formatted in open office or ms word cut and paste properly to a forum post?

NOPE, no success. If you're formatting with a cut and paste function, it shows in the forum post but as soon as you hit the send button it re-re formats. ;-( Oh well.

Yeah. I've tried that like a couple of times. Which I can conclude it's disabled. Then again, i'm open to the other options mentioned above.

the poor beleagured strikethrough.
Alas.
The html one is rather anemic.
If I want to make it one with impact, I'd use a transparent image over the letter or letters I wanted a CLEARLY VISIBLE strikethrough.

If Allen did liberate the one in bbcode, I don't think it would be any less anemic than the html one.

Okay -- back to working on my html to bbcode translator. (j/k - but it has occurred to me. Glad I didn't finish one up in early August of last year, because the subsequent version is enough different my hard work would have gone to waste. I need to write a cool user-interface to the very geeky command-line driven sed. Then everyone would love me. You just don't know it yet, LOL.)

(sed lives and breathes by regular expressions. And, if you'll note, I am the regular expression queen. And if you don't know what a regular expression is (aka "regex") -- well, you are missing out on one of the 7 Wonders of the Geek Universe.

They be power, baby.

Live JoyFully!

Judy

PS Another weird post from the lacking-in-sleep zapseo.
