Is there a way to charge for an RSS feed? If so, how is the content secured?
Thanks. |

Yes - you can just put a password / username on any rss feed to allow people to download it and charge them for the login. At the end of the day an 'rss feed' is just an xml file downloaded from a website, and like any file on a website it can be password protected. You can also put it on a https site so it's properly encrypted.
Rss readers will them prompt you for a password. Exactly which rss feed readers can do this, you're doing to have to check. I was playing around with remember the milk earlier today and it pumps out this type of xml feed - you might want to play with it (go to settings / info to find your feed with an account) |
