Article Content-Where To Put It?

I am pretty new to article marketing and have been reading a lot on here about article content and how some of you say that articles should be placed on your site first before going to EZA or any other directory, and others saying that articles should be placed on the directory sites first.

My question is that if I want to place my articles on my site first, should I put it on my blog, or have a webpage on my site dedicated to articles only? Should I create a new page as an article directory on my website for my articles? And If I put them right on my site, how would I upload them? I am just curious as to what everyone has to say.

You can put the article ANYWHERE on your site, before posting it to EZA. You don't need t odo anything special =].

Why do some people say NOT to put the article on your own website at all.

But, just to submit it to a directory?

      I'm new at this too...
Is having the backlink more important than keeping this nice content on my site?

Thanks I read both of those and this is what sparked my question...It's not so much about whether I should put my articles on EZA or other directories first..I am at the point to where I want to place them on my own site first because EZA takes FOREVER to accept an article and I am sick of it. And why should I make them an authority site when I can make my own site an authority site? So now I need to know how would I upload them...turn them into html files and put them right on my server with a link on my "articles" page that I create?

Hi Scrofford just wanted to chime in as I started a while back with internet marketing and while i'm not a huge writer of articles, what I had done was submit the article on my site first, and then I submitted my article to all the different directories, and I had no problem whatsoever... You won't get dubbed as having duplicate content, and many people said using ezinearticles was the number one way to do it, but as far as that is concerned, I have seen mixed results. While at the same time I don't profess to be an expert article marketer I do follow this methodology of having many links back to your site is better than having just 1 link back to your site.

One of my very first articles that I wrote I put on my site and back then, you could use services that would submit them to multiple directories for you, so that's what I did.

I also know that if you are absolutely concerned about it that maybe as an option of writing a very similar article would do the trick as well, so to say you would have 2 articles, one to have on your site and the other to list on article directories. The real point is just try it, see what works, the more articles you have out there, the more exposure you'll get. I hope that helps a little.

I was wondering about this too. I only have short posts on my front page. Should I make a new section on my website for long articles?

Well I figured it out. What I did was just create a directory page on my website and then for each article I create a page for it. Only a couple of articles up right now, but as I continue to write, I will post them there before EZA...or any other article directory.

If you are just starting out the best strategy is a combination of both - submit 10 "sacrificial articles" to EzineArticles to begin to get your name out there and get traffic, then after that use them first on your web site or blog (which is a web site , btw) to get them indexed to you, and then submit them - that combo strategy is a result of what I teach couple with what Tom Antion teaches about getting them indexed before submitting...

Because Article Marketing is a volume game, I will often submit articles and then repurpose them in parts on my blog...
