Minisites, PAGES, POSTS, and RSS feeds OH MY
I think some others might be int his situaton as well, so hopefully this thread will help some other people.
I will be doing microniche mini-sites (adsense, product-based,), and I have my wordpress blog set-up like this:
mainkeywordphrase.com is a PAGE (the homepage)
related keywords (lower search #) are all optimized blog posts
I use All in One SEO
The related keywords all show up in my nav bar, and to the avg user the whole thing just looks like a regular page.
The reason I am doing this is because I can't make a POST the root domain (mainkeywordphrase.com) without making it a page. Well, I can, but I am going to run into dupe content issues, ex.- "mainkeywordphrase.com/main-keyword-phrase"
I am assuming that I can still take full advantage of RSS feeds this way, but correct me if I am wrong. The problem I see is that now the main keyword phrase is not a part of the RSS feed? I am just wondering if my main keyword being a page will affect anything to do with the RSS feed, as I am still learning the ins and outs of RSS?
Anyone have any opinions regarding this matter? I believe that all things being equal (backlinks, onsite optimization, etc), wordpress posts and pages should rank the same...BUT...I am still trying to formulate a SIMPLE site structure that makes sense for these types of sites. (similar to xfactor and internetmarketer99 sites)
Any input here is greatly appreciated!
