Default Got my first "testimonial" ... But I am confused on what I am allowed to do with it!

Hello,

I got my first real testimonial this morning in my email, it didnt ask for it outright, I gave away some copies in return for "feedback, I think he realised what I really wanted was testimonials . I think it is really good. It covers why someone would need it and who it is for, I think he must be a writer of sorts because it is very very good, and not just in the language/writing sense, it is what I would think is a very good testimonial.

Now I am unsure of how to go about "claiming" it. Sometimes on sites you see the term "Documented Testimonial" or something like that.

I already wrote and asked if I could use it on my site along with his name, is that enough?

Do I need to do anything else in order for it to be legit?

If he says yes does that mean I can use it however I want (within reason of course) I mean can I shorten it, not by editing but buy cutting the end or beginning off?

If he says yes can I use it in my actual ebook, emails I send out, 3rd party sites?

I have always been a little confused at the testimonial part, only because they seem somewhat entangled in legal matters, because you are using someone elses words. It seems a gray area to me!

Ashley

You can use quotes from it but shouldn't rewrite I offer to add a link to the person's site below their name if they want it.

Good going!

Thanks Kay,

I received the response to my request to use it and he said yes! In fact he said feel free to use it in any way that would benefit me and let people know about my guide!

I re read it again, and think that it is good enough as a whole rather than quoting one small part.

Thanks
Ashley
