When adding a new domain to Hostgator, does it get hosted immediately?

When you purchase a new domain (from Godaddy say) and you want to host it via hostgator(unlimited domains plan)

and you go to the steps to add this fresh new domain to your hostgator account,


then how long does it take hostgator to become active with this new domain? (so you can start adding content
or even installing a WP blog onto it, Via a FTP )

Does this new domain hosting happen immediately, after you add it via hostgator?? or it takes days for hostgator to activate it, for them to email you, the login details? and confirm that the new domain is active? etc etc ?

In other words, How long does it take, online, to for the Godaddy Domain to be Pointed to the Hostgator account? and Redy to use! ?

The Main purpose for considering hosting with hostgator,
is to host 20+ WP blogs, (which will all on 20 separate domain names)


Should there be any concern from considering hostgator, interms of hostgator being sold to EIG ? ie, that affecting hostgators' performance ?

    It's hosted instantly but the nameservers take a few minutes to go live.

    I use Namecheap for domains. Godaddy is too spammy.

    Most of my experiences have been like Bob above.

    Maybe it's just me but it seems like if I register a new name the nameservers are updated within a few minutes. If it's a name that I bought from somebody and is currently registered it takes longer.

    Usually, after I buy the name from GoDaddy I update the DNS right away. Then I go to my HostGator WHM control panel and "Add New Site". Everything is normally ready to go within 5 minutes or less, just have to refresh the new domain page a few times.

    If the domain is at GD then HG has nothing to do with the speed of propagation.

    I use only wp for all my sales funnels, i buy domains from namecheap, change the dns towards my hostgator account and is ready to go within 10 minutes usually.

    Never really had a problem there.
