Default 000domains question

A client of mine got an email about their domain expiring just a week before the expiry date. Nothing before that. They managed to let it pass because they thought it was the first email that come a month or two before the domain actually expires.

The domain expired and their site went down so we tried retrieving their account password. The password link they sent does not work and keeps stating that the account for which it sent the password retrieval link does not exist.

Urgent status replies are taking more than 24 hours. Even after informing them that the link is not working all we got was we cannot change the password from our end and marked it as resolved. I haven't gotten a reply to my last ticket. It has been over 4 days since the domain expired and the site is down.

What is even weirder is that any reply I get from them seems to disappear from my inbox. Seems to be on self destruct. Now why would they do that? And if I try replying to a ticket, I keep getting bounces.

I cannot find a phone number on their site.

What can I do for my client to get his domain back??

Any place I can complain about these practices?

From the site when you click support - > Contact Our Customer Care:

"Our support phone number has been changed to 360-253-2210."

They cant delete emails from your inbox unless it's a help desk.

You might try the links from a different PC and/or browser.

You need to get that information. Because after a domain expires you have a grace period to re-register it. How long that grace period is, I'm not entirely sure. I tried to find a definitive answer on this but got conflicting answers. Keep trying to contact the registrar to get the domain back, however you should also probably contact ICANN:

Thanks guys! I've no idea how I missed that. I kept looking for the number on the form page.

The problem is not so much that the domain has expired as they offer the 30 day grace period. It is the fact that I cannot get into the account to renew it and they are not being any help with the password retrieval option. That is just not a good business practice IMO.

Hope their phone support is better.

You need to have been careful about domains you consider to be valuable. I guess you will need to write down their dates of expiry etc. or probably add the dates to your calendar or todo list so you can be notified a month before the date of expiry.

My own domains are at namecheap and they are thankfully nice enough to start reminding me a month before.

In this case it is a client's domain and in their name so the notices go to them. I'm just trying to help them out.
