Very Cool Marketing Trick

Hi Guys

In 2017 I have been going to Youtube each day to have a look at what the top 200 most watched videos, on youtube are, the videos that are going viral, and then work out if I can use a hook or a crazy ass video in my headlines, or marketing.

It works because youtube always shows you what is hot and popular and you can piggy back off these hot trends to see if you can make money and attract more clients virally. Its working really well so thought I would share it here.

    Hey Celente,

If you haven't read it already, The Viral Piggyback would make a good read for you; it'll add a few more layers to what you're doing with the above. Good stuff, BTW (your post).

    Cheers,

Wow Thank you Celente and Tom.

Tom you're a great story teller and funny too

Very useful info, with examples and all. Will definitely implement.

Are you still using this method? Would you say this is your favorite form of traffic generation?

actually you know what, since the level on FB viral videos is getting even more poweful and you have powerful marketers and influencers like gary Vee using them on FB, I find they are working even better.

I did just post one of my videos, but [deleted] it, because LOL< well, spent 3 months on that ad, and do not want people stealing me ideas. But the strategy is simple and it takes literally like 2 mins per day to formulate ideas.

One of my students is a 19 year old and did htis for those hot fidget spinner products, that are HOT right now and did $1544 USD in sales the first day. So its very powerful.

Instagram and FB are where these work the best, but I get the actual ideas on YOUTUBE in the first place.

        Hope this helps.

Do viral videos like these only do well when you already have a large audience? Do you think the reach is drastically reduced when you don't have a lot of likes or fans on your page?

You mean for viral FB videos? You mean you use them like an ad?

I had to google this cause I had no idea what a fidget spinner is, lol. What's crazy is I JUST saw a kid playing with one of these YESTERDAY and I was wondering what the heck it was!!!!

Your student made a FB video about the spinner? Like a demo video showing how fun it is? And linked it to an option to buy? Is this what you mean by ad?

This is really interesting. I've heard people mention live video marketing on FB and Instagram, and I'm certainly starting to see more of it in general.

When it comes to certain social media marketing aspects I'm still learning a lot. For some reason I find it hard to really understand how to use and grow.

Thanks a lot, matey. You've got my day off to a flying start.

It isn't my favourite traffic-gen' method but, yes, in that form and similar forms, I still use it and likely always will. I teach it to my students. When you first begin to learn viral marketing, The Viral Piggyback is a nice way to ease into a very big subject.

When it comes to viral marketing, the trick is to integrate several other elements into the mix, though.

        2 big ones:

        1. Audience capture.
        2. SEO.

You'll notice, for instance, that even the big names on Youtube right now are struggling. Youtube has taken a hit (advertisers dropping out) and the knock-on effect has seen most 'tubers, little guys to big guys, taking a knock-on hit: losing monetization on their videos, even losing videos (or just the visibility of them due to the new Restricted Mode feature).

Well, trouble is, even the big names are not what you'd called professional marketers. In a sense they are, they're very expert in Youtube marketing, but that's often where it ends. Point being, if they'd collected their audience (primarily) and integrated SEO into their catchy videos, which a professional marketer would know to do, they wouldn't be struggling so much right now.

So just keep those 2 elements in mind.

I'd recommend using the piggyback method as a way of getting into VM (viral marketing). Plop in SEO and audience collection into the mix and dig deeper and learn more aspects of VM. And remember that your ultimate goal with VM is passive traffic. This is where (partly) SEO comes into play, and you want to SEO your media for each relevant search platform nowadays: Google, yes, but also Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and every other syndication platform where you distribute your media.

I hope some of that helps. Best of luck - kick some buttock!!

I noticed this too, about the YouTube authority figures. I've even seen some that are asking for donations! It's clear that they know how to use the platform to grow a huge audience and following, but most have no clue when it comes to the business aspect and being able to monetize independently of YT ad revenue.

Thank you so much for the amazing tips. How would you know what SEO variants to use for different platforms? I don't quite understand. Just by what's trending on each?

Those who make big in YouTube aren't average marketers; most got advance degrees in computer science or marketing from top universities around the world (and they're toppers). You can argue with me some are boys/girls next door, but they either have decades of experience in video editing or charismatic skills. YouTube is a real money machine. Huge audience base and selling physical products from your own ecom or amazon aff links is a recipe for success, IMHO. Huge audience base isn't doable unless you're a top-notch in terms of your ability in crafting bid ideas and skills. You can make millions from YouTube ads alone if you happen to know how to make entertaining videos in shorter periods of time. No short cut. Google and Amazon got real capacity to cherish your million dollar dream fast.

I agree with your points in bold, mate. Spot on. I disagree with your non-bold points, but that doesn't mean I think you're entirely off the mark. The majority of successful creators have no formal education in anything related to video production or presentation. I know the Youtube creator community well. These are regular people, in most cases, who are communicating about their passions. Most of us learn on the job. Does it hurt to have formal education? No way. It can do nothing but help, but it totally isn't necessary. Seriously. Knowledge, expertise, and charisma help. Not necessary. And out of those 3, the most important is charisma. If you have that (something that can't be taught) then you'll do better on Youtube. If you don't have it? Still not a problem. It just helps!

            Hello Tom,

If you already own an advanced degree and plan to start a YouTube channel, then its a win-win situation. Of course, not having a formal education can never stop you from achieving anything in life, but my point is in order to see success in YouTube you need to reach that level preparedness and effectiveness, and its a not a trivial task. Hope, you would agree.
