Hi, I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times over but I'm horribly desperate and asking anyhow hoping someone with wisdom will point me in the right direction. I need to create some type of online business that can generate at least $1200.00 monthly almost immiediatly. I know this sounds insane but let me tell you my short story. I've been unemployed for the last 4 months. I live in a small farming community and jobs are scarce and low paying. I don't have the money to move and really don't want to sell my home and yet my savings have dwindled to almost nothing and I have enough to last maybe another 6-8 weeks before my bills start falling behind and I lose my home. I need to work from home if possible because I have a child with a severe heart condition and crippling arthritus. I've watched youtube and read the net for 100's of hours at night and everytime I see something that sounds remotely possible, that it might work, I find I've been mislead again. I tried Amazon affiliate marketing and made 8.62 after generating almost 10,000 clicks that I spent over 70 hours generating. I made 148.00 selling used books on Amazon over 6 weeks not to metion the MLM fiascos. I have around 1000 users on my facebook page and another thousand or so on twitter. I feel like a jerk because I directly marketed to those folks and the end result was next to nothing. I don't want to sound like a whiner or complainer but I've been through the gaunlet and just don't seem to find anything that works. I'm not scared of hard work. The job I lost after 6 years was in road construction. I'm willing to put in 80 hour weeks if that's what it takes. I just need to find anything that actually works and now it has to work fast. I only need about 1500 a month to cover my bills but that feels so very far away right now. Any help you could provide would be a God send. Thanks in adance for any constructive ideas but please don't write unless you've done it yourself. I can't afford anymore lost time or empty promises. Thanks again...

    Hi Jerry,

I appreciate your goal-setting but spotted 1 chief problem; you are desperate, which reeks of fear, and building your IM campaign on fear (versus from a place of love and fun) ensures you will fail horribly. The IM tool (tips, strategies, etc) will never work in your hands because fear drives you.

Get into IM mainly for the love of it. Sure you can enjoy making money too, but that the fun/love energy and more keenly, you moving away from fear, helps you follow smart tips, and also helps you earn more income over the long term.

IM is not a salaried job. If you want to cover your bills and survive, get a job, pad your savings, and this will give you the peace of mind to build an IM biz from a place of enjoyment, not from a place of fear. Because you will self-sabotage with this fear-based mindset.

    Advice offered from personal experience.

Believe me Ryan I apprieciate your post and advice. The problem is that I can't find a job. Seriously, I've put hundreds of hours into researching and working the things that have failed but that's been mainly at night after spending an equal amount of time in the day looking for work. So I really have no alternitive but to keep on keeping on... Yes, I'm fearful but I don't let it come across in any copy I write or work that I do. Fear as they say is also the worlds greatest motivator. I really need advice that is proactive in giving me a true possibility and I'll work through the fear. Believe me, even in the failed efforts I've had a blast, until the bubble burst and I realized it was unobtainable. I ran a physical business (parking lot sweeping) for over 20 years and took it from a 36k a year business when I bought it to making over 330k annual when I sold it. I'm not looking for a handout nor a work free get rich quick scheme but an honest online business that I can build rather quickly, if such a beast exists. Thanks again but I must go forward, not in reverse.

330K? Yep, you can definitely manifest a ton of money That's all you need to remember going forward; don't let fear rule your decisions. BE the guy who built the biz raking in 330K and those fears go out the window. Being that person will help yo grow an IM not to make money, but to make a difference. Make that difference, create value, build the biz mostly from love and you will earn a wonderful income as you help folks and connect with folks and put their needs before you own. Largely at least LOL.

This advice speaks to me as well and is something I've been telling many people who are getting into Internet Marketing. Everyday I work online I learn that this is not about fast money like many online products on the market promise. It's just like running a physical business. Building a successful online business takes lots of hard work and patience. If you don't have those you don't have what it takes to build an online empire.

It literally took me about 2-3 years before I actually started to make money from my online efforts. When I first got started I always figured when I pushed a few buttons I would make money instantly but sadly it doesn't work like that.

To the OP you have to relax and find something that works. Your best bet would be to get a real job if you somehow can. When you have a regular income it makes your online decisions come from a better place. If you're desperate you tend to make bad decisions.

My experience too Really, I made like nothing for such a long them. Then income flowed in a bit, then, a lot, then vanished over time. I was online for the wrong reasons. I had to feel and let go my fears related to those wrong reasons to really rock it out online. Or, to fall in love with helping people so money flowed in more easily.

      I agree 100%

When you use IM to get money you need fast, you try something for a bit, when that doesn't work you try something else, then you hear about how someone made 10k in 2 weeks doing something else so you try that, and so on.

You don't have a long term plan cause you're not thinking long-term.

In general IM is unfortunately not something you can start with very little money and make 1k a month consistently within 2 months starting from scratch. It's a long-term endeavor.

I would suggest ebay to get money relatively fast. Brand name items, books, accessories, collectibles, etc. You might also want to look into starting a go fund me page or something similar for your child, lots of people are willing to give to a worthy cause. Maybe if you can get your message to someone with a large following they can spread the word and help you raise the money.

But as far as building steady income online, it will take time.
Ryan mentioned coming from a place of love and fun and positive energy as you are building your business. When you are desperate that energy comes through in what you do, and it will drive people away. But when you are centered you can focus on the right plan and that energy will come through and draw people to you.

Come up with a 12 month plan for your business, that's enough time for you to be able to go from $0 to having more than enough to cover your expenses and then some in steady income online, as long as you're using the right plan and taking action.

Find a successful leader or business model that inspires you and would make you want to wake up every day and work on it. When it comes to building a business you have to find the right path for yourself. Reverse engineer the success stories that resonate with you and come up with a unique angle for yourself. Explore into your talents, tap into your interests, and cultivate that love for your work and positive energy through passion and let it all become fuel for your success. Your mindset is a crucial part of your success.

      Wishing you the best.

Not going to sugar coat this You need to take one of those low paying jobs just to keep from falling behind. I know this is not what you want to hear, but imagine if they take your house and you can not support your child. Put everything you do not need up for sale.

Stop jumping from one type of method to another. You can spend all your spare time to put efforts in to Internet Marketing. It will take you more then 6-8 to weeks to make $1200.00 the way you have been doing it in the past. Consider how to help people turn a small Sweeping business into a 330k machine. Even go back and see if you can help the new owner in any way shape of form.. 4-6 weeks will go by faster then you think, spending time looking for the magic bullet here will not help. Good Luck !

Thank you, seriously. Love the thread and didn't realize people here were willing to pay for articles. Still working my way through the thread. I'm not scared of hard work, nor turning my nose up at the low paying jobs but there aren't many and most involve temp farm jobs and I've taken any that have come up. I've shoveled manure with the best of em lately. I understand what you've said about switching up methods but I unfortunately bought the lines of some youtube gurus, through desperation I suppose and quickly realized that the methods weren't working. The guy I sold my business to ripped me off. Made payments for 2 years, then went out of business and sold off my equipment. I sued, won and got nothing... believe me I know the 6 weeks are going fast. I haven't slept more than 3 hours a night in the last month dreading the day. Thanks my friend. I'll keep reading that thread.

MLM's work for some people. People make a lot of money selling on Amazon.

    A couple questions:

The most basic and important question for you to answer is why do these things work for others but you feel they haven't worked for you?

Why didn't you scale the $8.62 or the $148?

What are your interests, talents/skills, etc?

What do YOU think you should do? You've studied this for 100s of hours, had some success (more than many here), so should have some ideas of your own how to solve your issue.

If you need cash immediately then I suggest getting an online job then work on your online business as well part time. Generating $1200 monthly should not be difficult if you keep working for your goal everyday.

My sister sells men's shirts on eBay that she buys at Goodwill and the Salvation Army for next to nothing. She's doing well over $1200 per month. She bought a Hawaiian style shirt for $1 and sold it for $40.

All I'm saying is, sometimes the easiest solutions might be the best. There are people on this site that are going to tell you how easy it is to make $1200 per month in IM, that have never made $1.20. Hell, even you topped that.

I'm doing $1200 or more per week, but I spent 3 years and over $10k to reach that level, so in reality, I have nothing to offer you other than best wishes for finding a solution to your problem.

Just don't believe the crap about 'believing in yourself' and simply 'following your passion.' There is no faster route to becoming destitute.

Find one viable thing, laser focus on it, work your ass off and hope for the best. That's truly all that you can do on a new venture. All of that said, you do actually need to start, soon. Reading 100's of hours of crap on the Internet doesn't really seem to have been an answer to anything.

It can be done, but not by simply, 'believing in yourself.' That's just hokum.

    Thank you.

Unless you posted this from a public library or something, you have an Internet connection and a computer. You sound like a reasonably intelligent individual. You have what you need to find a real job you can work from home.

Stop looking for systems of selling things - you don't have the time or the capital to make those work right now. What you need is cash flow. Which means trading hours for dollars.

What you want to look for are legitimate companies who hire individuals to man virtual customer service desks, answering calls from the company's customers. You commit to a certain number of hours during which you will be available, and you get paid for those hours just like if you were reporting to an office.

Telemarketing or lead generation for established companies is another possibility.

    Here's a bit of off-topic advice.

Don't try to go it alone. Turn to your community or your church for support. You might be amazed at the resources available that most people don't know about.

Jerry can you teach others to run a parking lot sweeping business. You can cold call, work as a consultant possibly supplying teaching materials policy procedure guidelines to businesses that you contact. Maybe get part equity for consultant duties. Though, you probably cant police income you could put in a contract to audit books if need be. You can probably start this tomorrow once deciding what business needs growth and your expertise to sell off their business one day. I'd spend sometime thinking about how you can serve clients and who might your customer be nearest town to you. You probably already know some people in the business you could help and then let word of mouth take over.

Probably not what you want to hear, but I agree with a lot of what has been said so far - that it's probably time to help yourself to some Humble Pie and take one of those low paying jobs available in your area.

However, since you seem to have time at night, you might as well sign up for textbroker.com for a few extra coins each day . it will not make you rich, and probably will not generate $1200 a month itself, but what I will say is that every single time ever logged in there, I have seen assignments available for the taking, all of which I had guaranteed access to choose to accept or not accept..

They would be little assignments, like writing 300 to a 1k words of content that a buyer specifically ordered.

Mundane writing that just about any Web Master would rather outsource, such as product descriptions, ad copy etc. paid by the word.

The amount you get paid per word depends on the quality score level you place at in your application essay and periodic reevaluation as you continue completing assignments.

Personally, I rated highly on my application essay and the assignments that I completed so far, so I've never made less than $0.03 a word.

That's not to say that there is an unlimited pool of assignments (far from), however you can get a few extra bucks each day (an extra $15 or $20 bucks a day is not an unreasonable or unattainable goal) writing things like 500 word product descriptions, an article about how great some person that's running for a local office is based on the info they give you about themselves for their PR campaign, rewriting an "about us" page of a website, or writing some effective ads for them (or their va) to post in their local classifieds etc ( those are just some examples of some of the assignment that I have taken on that website).

Admittedly, I only visit their site intermittently, but nevertheless every time I've been there there have been available jobs for the taking and it's not likely is it by coincidence is only when I log on to the dashboard LOL)..

anyway that's one way to go for a few extra bucks anyway.... it most definitely sounds like one of those humility jobs would be imperative to protecting your child's welfare and your own for the time being but just remember:

it's only a stepping to keep you above water while you look for something ... it's only temporary a menial job would not be permanent either so don't get too depressed. Lol lmfao hope that helps some

I agree with most people here that in your situation you should take ANY job you can find (even if it is low paying). That will allow you to get back on your feet as quickly and easily as possible.

The desperation of "I need money now" is similar to being left at the casino with $15. Of course you're you going to sit down and play a hand or two, You might win some money, but ultimately you;ll most likely end up going home broke. The same applies for online marketing. If you invest your last penny in the hopes of a big payout, you're in for a big surprise.

Get a job (ANY job), get on your feet, saves some money to invest in IM, and eventually you'll be making good money without the need for a job.

It is certainly possible to make money within one month, but you'll need to invest in order to do so. Without money there isn't much you can invest in.

I hope that helps and good luck!

While you're at it, to compliment what your have already been doing, might as well start a blog or vlog which, at this point, would be basically be a journal / diary of your attempts to make money online. People love to read about what does -- and especially does NOT work... granted it will not get you anY Immediate money, but in time your perceived "failures" so far in online marketing can prove to be quite profitable in the long run - if yo do and get an AdSense account and be sure your posts are entertaining enough and you remain relatable ( profitable referring to AdSense earnings).... keep your chin up with the type of work ethic it sounds like you have, you will make it

I believe there is something you can do but it's gonna take hard work which you have been putting in a lot of time doing which is good. The only thing is, it isn't guaranteed because nothing can ever be.

The most important thing in anything is consistency, you need to work on the same thing everyday. My advice is to do affiliate marketing, you can start pretty much for free (apart from landing page and autoresponder) and you can get trials with them for 14-28 days depending who you go with so your first month will be pretty much free.

You can generate traffic by being active on places like facebook, google plus, linked in, etc and drive traffic to your squeeze page to generate leads and follow up with them.

The thing about generating leads and making money, both require you to focus on providing value to the people in your niche and on your list. Trying to promote to them direct is not going to work until you have built alot of rapport with people and that will take time.

Any offers you promote has to be high value and solve a specific problem in your market, like instamate for example help people build a big instagram account using posts that have high engagement, whatever you sell has to solve a problem. That is why people buy.

Lastly, as already pointed out, you need to get away from the fear mindset. Anything you do will come across and show depending on your mindset and focus. I want to succeed and I don't want to fail are saying the same thing but each are separate focuses, focus on what you want rather than what you don't.

Good luck with whatever you choose but remember you need to stay consistent

Hello, Jerry. Instead of diving into IM directly, why not look for companies that are hiring remotely? There's a lot of those online including Appen, Rev.com, Apple, and more.

If you'd like to freelance online, there's The Penny Hoarder. They advertise jobs from reliable, not to mention legit companies that really pay. You can either work full-time or part-time. Some even offer benefits like regular office jobs.

If you are really desperate, my advice is to find a job and clear your bills / debts first.

Running an online business requires patience, time and effort.

It is NOT an overnight get rich quick program.

If any marketer tells you otherwise, stay away from them.

Because truth being said, if you are unemployed and not contributing to your family for some time, your parents, spouse and even children will get fed up with you.

If that is your situation, I can understand where you are coming from.

I used to be in that situation.

But as I do not like rough jobs, I do hourly-based data entry jobs in the day while focusing on my internet marketing at night.

That was part of my admin job at financial brokeage firm which I did mentioned before sometime ago.
