Getting the biggest bang out of your Bum marketing

I write 200 articles or 2,000 and put them on an article directory. My author box has a nice link to my site or my offer. What is the best linking method?

If I use a tiny url type thing the link could suddenly disappear. I have no control.

If I use a hard link to my site, that might disappear one day especially on an old site that I've forgotten about.

If I use a program on my site that redirects links I am better off but I might still not notice it's broken.

At least EZineArticles will notify me if my link is no longer valid. Many directories will not.

What do you do?

I just use a hard link to my website. I tend to view articles as disposable. If I've abandoned a site, what do I care about the link?

Interesting take on it. I'm thinking of the work or payment to get the article out there and now its all over the net with no link back to one of my sites. Perhaps after it goes stale there is no need to worry. Thoughts?

A diet high in phosphorus is undoubtedly best for "getting the biggest bang out of your bum" marketing. But it might be "only a flash in the pan", really.
