What Would You Do With This Real Estate Domain Name?

Earlier today I picked up a location-specific real
estate domain name (similar to DallasRealtors.com).

I've got several ideas on how best to monetize
this, but rather than influence anyone's thoughts
on the matter I won't mention them yet.

What do you think would be the best approach
to making money with this type of domain?

Thanks!
Brian

    Wow, nice name.

Well, the first and probably most obvious thought that came to my mind was - approach Dallas Realtors and see if they're either interested in buying the domain, or, creating an affiliate program where you send them visitors and resulting sales would end up with you getting a percentage of the realtors fee.

Alternatively, do as a lot of others are doing and just provide an informational site. Get money from adsense and all that. Seems like a waste to me that way, though.

Sorry if they weren't helpful enough, just my thoughts.

I should have also mentioned that with the 'informational site' you could sell advertising to various Dallas Realtors. With rotating banners, link lists, houses for sale rss feeds (if available) and all that.

setup a social networking type page where each realtor will have his/her properties listed of course for a fee...and charge for advertising as well...

I was thinking something similar. You want to position it as the one place to go to find area real estate and real estate professionals.

This one is interesting... can you recommend any
existing sites or themes that use this type of setup?

      Thanks,
      Brian

Be very careful. In the United States, Realtor and Realtors are trademarks of the National Association of Realtors. You probably do not want to run afoul of them.

Good ideas so far everybody, thanks.

Dan, I agree about the caution using "realtor".
In fact, this site talks more about it...
      Use on the Internet

As I mentioned, my new domain name is "similar"
to the one I mentioned, and actually has the word
      "realty"

DenverRealtors.com would also be similar to DallasRealtors.com, so there wasn't a way of knowing which was the similar part.

But, if your domain is realty rather than realtor, then I don't know of any issues. If it was realtors in your domain, I'd drop it like a hot potato.

At any rate, two additional options you might consider are:

        a) Building a site and renting it to a real estate agent.

        b) Set up a site with local real estate listings, where sellers (or agents) can buy ads. Based on previous discussions on this board, I think that's still an area where there are some potential issues, so you'll need to look into that.
