How To Best Use 100+ Recipe Videos

Hi, need some advice..

I have a recipe website, and a facebook fan page of about 30,000 active fans.
I've recently created 100+ recipe videos, similar to those you see like tastemade. These are short 30sec recipe video clips.

i've read that many people have had very good results using video clips. So people have said that they use videos to grow fans on facebook. I've seen recipe websites like tastemade posting a lot of videos as well.

Need some advice on what's the best way to utilise these videos. Youtube? Facebook? What kind of ads? Can I monetize this? drive more traffic to my site? grow fan base?

Thanks!

Yes, YouTube channel, Twitter, Facebook Ads all sound like excellent ways to try to monetize. Sounds like you've got lots of content and foundation.

Have you thought of setting up a Youtube channel?

I happened to know a guy called David Tian doing Youtube video series educating men on how to date women effectively and correctly.

I also knew a girl who was very successful with her cooking series though I could not remember her exact name.

You can also sell your video as PLR product. I'd like to see your video style if you don't mind. Thanks.

Try to collaborate with other youtubers, facebook page webmaster, and website webmaster. Who have similar traffic like you & relevant niche. And also you can earn from refer amazon products related to your site like kitchen products etc.

Sorry to double-post, Emp. I missed this cracking bit of advice (especially the part in bold). Rahul provides a gem.

To explain. You have a 30K page. One thing you can do is trade with other pages. FB won't allow us to pay for shoutouts (although I know people ignore this part of the FB TOS) but that doesn't mean you can't trade traffic. You can certainly buy traffic from FB (and I'd recommend it at times) but trading is one of the elements behind massive page growth.

hi, any suggestions on how to trade? or where can i find a portal with other pages looking to trade?

30,000 fans to be honest isn't a lot. I tried amazon marketing, but didn't get anything. is 30,000 fans enough to monetize?

I'd forget about selling them, Emp. Use them to collect your audience, instead.

    You have 3 sensible options:

    1. Facebook.
    2. Youtube.
    3. Both.

    A couple of things first.

Nowadays, Youtube rewards you better for videos in the 10 minute-plus region. It's all about watch time. The longer you can keep viewers on Youtube? The better. If you've noticed a lot of videos hitting the 10 minute mark, now you know why.

On the other hand, Facebook audiences reward you for being pithy and punchy with your media (videos or otherwise), which would seem to be an ideal fit for your 30-second recipe videos. If you've seen meme videos on FB, same as above, you know why.

    And now a suggestion.

You need to target both platforms, Emp. Now, you could be tempted to whack those short videos together, making those 10 minute videos for Youtube. Avoid that. Reason being: you need to remember that your audience can enjoy your media on both platforms. The last thing Joe Surfer wants is to watch some of your 30 second videos on FB and then find himself rewatching them, by accident, on Youtube. There's nothing wrong with sharing the same videos to both platforms (you should ). What you don't want to do is mess around your audience.

What I'd suggest, then. If you haven't done so already, setup and brand a Youtube channel. Use those 30 second videos, but Playlist them. Brand that list, too. Make it clear that you're not all about short videos. Make it clear that the PLAYLIST is about short videos. Learn how to optimize your videos for Youtube Search AND Google search. And (important) add virality to the way you present those videos on Youtube: title and description. It's vital that you do that. You want people sharing. You need them sharing.

On Facebook, you have 2 options.

    1. Share the Youtube videos to your page.
    2. Upload videos direct to your page, instead.

You get a better display on FB when you upload videos direct, compared to sharing your YT videos, but if you upload direct you'll be making extra (unnecessary) work for yourself and (more important) you'll be missing an opportunity. Ranking videos on YT is about engagement. Engagement on those videos. Well, one thing we do in viral marketing (with any media) is we seed our media. In other words, we encourage the viral response by syndicating our media (that's infused with virality) to mass pools of core audience. Well, Emp, you have a fair sized mass pool: your page. So what you do is share those YT videos to your page. Remember to add your viral and SEO text as you do so (in the FB field) and get your audience engaging them.

    1. You'll be adding content to your page.
    2. You'll be adding the same content to your channel.
    3. You'll be growing both platforms.

I could rabbit on all day on this subject. Last thing for now: collect that audience. Remember, when we collect social followers or YT subscribers, we're not really collecting our audience. We're renting that platform from (in this case) FB and YT. That isn't safe. So you need to collect them onto a platform you own outright. Easiest option? A newsletter.

      Thanks Tom,

So what you're saying, post them on youtube, then create a page on my blog, embed the youtube video on the page

Then promote the page via facebook?

    Keep posting them on FB.

2.8K Views and 84 shares in 12 days is not bad.

Thanks everyone for your inputs.. after reading I have some thoughts..

    1) should I post these videos on facebook or youtube, or both?

    2) would it make sense I create a video library, i have probably 500 of them, and then start a membership base? Maybe a small fee of $2 or $5 per month to access the video library?

I don't think you should do anything like this. Let the video free. you can earn different way.

      * You can earn by affiliate Amazon / Ebay products.
      or
      * You should start your own dropship store. You have a good number of user.
      or
If you want we can start a dropshipping store together. I am a eCommerce developer. SO, I will manage all development related expenses. Average profit of a drop shipper is 20-30 percent. Its great idea please message me privately.
