What to do when you have NOTHING?

by adcnet 55 replies
Right now I have nothing.

I have done well online in the past but hit a bad time.

I am on Fiverr. I have also given away websites here and Software.

My main income was from selling SEO on other forums for years but clients have dried up.

I have never saved money and I should have.

I want to launch a product on WSO but need funds to do so.

Fiverr is saturated! I can get views but no sales and I'm selling SEO and BOTS so I know my services are good.

I can build Bots using UBOT or do SEO onpage backlinks build Amazon Niche sites that Rank on Page #1

Build eCommecre stores and Expert at PPC.

I know people here are in the same situation as me.

I know the recommended get a Job or write articles will be advice.

Also Upwork or Freelancer sites are same as Fiverr saturated and again they make you pay for proposals I mean what!!?

Not enough that they make percentage of your income.

You are up against hundreds of people on those sites I've done it and I've got a pretty good CV and set of skills and I got no HIRES.

Most people hiring want CHEAP from far east.

It's crazy.

I think we all want something that makes money now in a day and it's doable with a service not affiliate marketing or Amazon or building a list that all takes time.

Ive branded and sold a product on Amazon so I can also give people advice on this or put it in a Report on How to do it.

I'm hoping to help people and help myself.

Peace

Thanks to everyone who pushed me in this post and gave me advice. I really appreciate it.

It helped to motivate me into finding something I can do and make a living from.

I have since taken action and created a niche business which is Installing Worpress.

Its new so its all about marketing now but I hope to grow it into a bigger service.

      Thank you all!

Thats one of the main problems. You are doing and offering the kind of SEO that does not pay - affiliate/marketers SEO. Most people are not making much money hence do not want to pay anything. Meanwhile the companies and businesses that pay don't want to touch bot SEo with a ten foot pole anymore because it can ruin their business and rep.

Most people hiring want CHEAP from far east.
Again you are talking about IM SEO. The average small to mid size business person is paying hundreds of dollars in advertising and is used to paying hundreds to thousands of dollars for it.

You are up against hundreds of people on those sites I've done it and I've got a pretty good CV and set of skills and I got no HIRES.
Then skip that route. You have millions of sites at your finger tips (Google). Sites that are not ranking and for obvious reasons. Contact them directly in a creative way.

      Thank you Mike.

You misunderstood me I don't build SEO Bots.

I need to get a grip and contact second page Google rankings like you said although I feel lots of Indiana co panties have probably hammered this.

I know this because I would receive on average 2-3 emails a day telling me they can rank my site.

I said and I quote "Im selling SEO and BOTS

          And BOTS not SEO Bots.

          I didn't say I sell SEO Bots.

I would have wrote I sell SEO bots.

You are a SEO provider and make bots so you never use bots to do SEO? Who are you trying to kid given you are in the fiverr market?

No seasoned SEO in their right mind believes you are offering quality SEO for $5. Thats the REAL problem and why you are not making money - wrong market because $5 SEo skills do not translate to higher paying business customers needs.

but have at it...live long and not prosper..... you obviously will refuse to take that point and you want to be the "easy money maker" as you yourself say .....so you get what most people wanting easy money get - nothing much.

The question I have is why you don't do what you claim you can do.

Everyone and his brother "sells SEO" these days. Why aren't you building and optimizing Amazon sites either for income or to sell - why aren't you selling your Amazon product or creating more to sell? If you are great at backlinks and SEO - why haven't you built money making sites for yourself over the years you've been working online?

...and...how smart is it to have a signature (affiliate?) that claims

See how I make over $7,293 a month from home doing REAL online jobs!

Stop falling for the "get rich quick" scams! I'll show you how you can make REAL money online.
Don't get me wrong - I'm sorry you are having a rough time but just reading your story it's not hard to see why that's happening to you. If you want your fortunes to change - YOU have to make changes in what you are doing.

Offering a service is a great way to get income flowing - but over the long term you must turn the 'service' into a real 'business' for it to survive. That includes money management - expanding your reach and target market - adding to your services - having proven results you can show prospects, etc.

    Hi adcnet,

After reading your post it seems clear to me that you have focused your business model around the lowest paying tasks in the marketing industry. Sure, those skills are needed, but they are a commodity that is filled primarily by some of the lowest paid work staff on the planet. Heck, even a "bot" can be trained to do much of it.

Prices in a free market are determined by supply and demand. When you have an oversupply in the market it tends to drive the prices down. We do indeed have an oversupply for all of those skills mentioned in your post.

Your skill set, while in high demand during the 2000 to 2008 period, seems to be centered on low paying tasks that are almost a commodity at this point in time. As a commodity, you must supply it in very high volume and at exceptionally lower cost than the majority of your competitors to make a go of it.

With so many competitors, willing to work for peanuts, you need to find a way to increase the perceived value, and real value, of what you offer. Or, move on to something else that is in high demand.

Building a business isn't merely about making an income, it is more about building asset value than income. It may be too late for you at this point, but shift towards growing the value of your business, especially the long term value of your business assets if you want to break free of the Sisyphean treadmill that you seem to be on. Sure, a bot can ease the burden of a Sisyphean-like process, but at the end of the day, you have not built any long term value, you don't really have a viable business, just a temporary job.

It all begins with setting SMART goals that advance you down a path of building long term value, and viability. Set a worthwhile goal, that focuses on building your asset value, and cull any activity that isn't propelling you toward that goal. That is how your get started, your resourcefulness, and intensity of focus, will determine how you finish up.

    HTH,

    Don Burk

      Hi Don,

You're right I should be focusing on a premium product as that's where I should be now instead of looking at the lower end of marketing having to compete for peanuts.

I have been in this for over 10 years and been successful but I've hit this point in life its just all gone. Things were easier now they're not.

How did I do it before has stayed the same but how and what I sell online has to change now and you have given me some clarity to move forward in a positive way.

I have been becoming more and more disillusioned with life and business online.

Thank you for your quality advice Its much appreciated

I feel happy about the fact is should be a high end product as I am sick of trying to compete against lower end freelancer gigs online.

If you are really at zero - and you sound really close - consider getting a job. Jobs help you pay bills and boost your savings. When you can pay bills and have ample savings, you do not do things from a desperate, frantic, fear-filled space...and the only reason why clients dry up is because you are sending out a fearful, desperate energy.

This is a good point. And personally I've always done best when I wasn't desperate. But there is a counter to this as a group of people think it is the best way to operate..i.e be desperate, be hungry, be broke so as to get you motivated to wake up everyday and work your tail off.

To me, I just cannot do it like that

I did take that route and never regret it but offer advice to get a job because a small % of folks make it coming from a fearful place but most struggle like heck. Warrior is proof of this. Get those paychecks flowing, do profitable things from an abundant energy and you will do A-OK.

Yes thats right I think people just do not spend like they used too.

Smartphones are making it easier to find deals and get things done cheap or learn yourself quick.

Millennials (also known as Generation Y) are the demographic are here and selling to them will need a new angle.

It may not be selling in the format we all understand but rather in a understated way.

      Middle men will dissapear.

It will be a service for Free or for a Reason like to make the world a better place then something attached to this that will make you income.

You are not listening. You are just in the cheap market (Konker BHW, WF, Fiverr and many freelance sites). If you spend all your time trying to get business from forums and these services your pay will be low but take a look at the numbers on this page

        https://www.websitemagazine.com/blog...f-seo-services.

Thats right most business SEOs don't go much lower than $400US per month per client. Many don't go below a thousand.

        different world bro.

With real business clients not affiliate and part timers. You are in the wrong market just like many SEOs on here. Plus No, everyone does not try and do it themselves. The average successful business has a budget for advertising and the owner does NOT have the time to go do everything themselves. That's for people with more time than money.

You WILL have to change your SEO game to go into the higher paying market though. You can't talk about bots etc. These are real businesses with employees and family depending on their sales. They cannot afford to have their sites disappear from ranking drops because you use link spam etc.

Most "SEOs" here do NOT understand their are two kinns of SEO. Business SEO and Affiliate SEO. Your can try things with affiliate SEO and even make some money but you take a risk with affiliate SEO because you can always just start another site if all goes bad with Google (and it will with link spam). A real company with a name and website based on that name cannot just start all over again. They will lose business on and offline every time they lose a brand name.

You start out by asking for help after losing everything you have built and then start philosophising about what the situation is and what is happening or going to happen.

Where do you get the "people do not spend like they used to" from?

        Here is an example.

You can read about how the percentage of expenditure has changed from numerous sources.

Businesses and people in general are spending more than ever.

It is the mix of what they are spending on that should be considered.

Is your offering one in the sunset phase of development or one of the sunrise industries?

Why not change tack and use your skills to work on something more evergreen like cyber security for example?

This is one area where there is a shortfall in suppliers and the problem isn't likely to go away soon.

Same with numerous other opportunities to either help business with or get employment doing.

Most businesses don't care about SEO or any other buzzword.

They care about getting qualified leads to see their offers.

They care about converting those qualified leads.

        They care about growth.

My core business is something wood based and antique by most people's estimation. That hasn't stopped expansion into such a diverse range of niches that have sprung up new businesses and opportunities.

In fact my "old business" was recognised as a digital champion in 2012 which lead to a whole raft of "new opportunities"

Re-invention and evolution are the core skills required to survive anything over the long term.

Start innovating and you might surprise yourself where you end up.

Next time you get some success be sure to allocate a bit to saving and investment and a bit to innovation and future proofing activities.

        Best regards,

        Ozi

Talk about timing... I'm in the same situation myself - again. I was thinking the exact thing about Fiverr, Upwork, etc. too.

I have two established assets that I need to sell, but after that? I'm just drained thinking about what to do next - and I'm almost 59 yrs old!

I've been going through too many senior moments and depression since losing my little brother/best friend in January, like I have no desire to do anything.

I am making a little bit of cash through t-shirt sales on a couple of different platforms. I'm also making a little bit of cash through coloring book sales on CreateSpace.

    Other than that...

Fortunately (I guess) I'm on permanent disability so my main bills are "almost" paid from that monthly stipend.

So - it's back to the drawing board!

Hang in there is about all I can say. A door will open eventually. :-)

A lot of people come to WF to find the answer to making money online but what happens is a vicious circle of buying product after product then they get hit with Digital Overload and have paralysis and never end up starting anything.

I'm 40 and keep making mistakes and think F#$@ got to do it again.

I sold or gave away my online assets recently.

I had a good eBay business but got let down by a Chinese supplier and had to refund over 60 orders!

I think I can still keep it going but it's hard when eBay kill you over defective rate.

Flippa is another place where unless you have a site making $300+ a month don't bother.

Buyers there don't know the value of a website its soul destroying.

I have sold a website for 8k on there but that took me a year to build - luckily it was Adsense.

I know how you feel about getting the energy and desire to back to build yourself an income online - it's draining at times.

Thank you I appreciate it. I hope you find a sustainable passive income soon also

I went on Flippa but decided against that. I have my one blog listed on the Freemarket site, so we'll see how that goes.

My husband and I resell things on eBay. He buys the stuff at auctions and estate sales and I do the photos and listings. He also sells used auto parts on eBay and does pretty well with that too.

I just feel like I'm not "contributing" lately, except for the T-shirts and coloring books, although he tells me not to worry about it - he's got it covered. LOL

I think you are selling yourself short. doing the listings that actually sell the items is a pretty big contribution.

When you have nothing you'll find out that you still have something left: you.

You are your best mentor. You are your best asset.
You are your secret weapon. You are the unique selling point of your business. You are your brand.

So take what you have, skills and knowledge and package it in an organized manner.

I know what you are saying about Upwork, Freelancer, Fiverr, etc... The competition is fierce and there are those willing to work for very little. This works out well for the buyer, but not the seller.

Can you create bots for Facebook and/or Linkedin?

If you can do that, that's where I would put my focus.

I think a LinkedIn sounds good as I have seen a lot more FB bots around.

Upwork wow they charge you to send proposals I mean WTF and they take a commission on your Jobs.

I applied for 30 Jobs in Amazon and SEO and Ecommerce as I am skilled in those areas.

I got knowhere! and I have over 10 years experience.

Saying that I didn't have a portfolio so I guess that didn't help but my CV was good.

I sent them a detailed proposal not some - Hi yeah I saw your posting and can do that for you general reply you get on there.

It's tough but I guess if I wanted to go again I would need to build a better portfolio then Pay the fee to Send Proposals which I still disagree with.

      :/

I would focus on bots that would help with lead generation.

You have so strong skills, then it is just a matter of time to find a job. Or you can build up your own business, but focus on one area. Anyway, good luck.

there are some good points, but I will breakdown How I build a 6 figure business form scratch. while living in my car.

    1) while broke, build a lead page, / squeeze page.

    2) Send as much traffic to your capture page as you can.

    3) Build your list, help and nurture them, build up repore.

    4) Help and offer them stuff.

    5) So with some profits, put 100% of that money into paid ads, to drive more traffic to your squeeze page.

    6) Help you list even more, offer them MORE stuff.

    7) Then with profits, keep putting 50% into paid traffic, to your squeeze page, and keep doing that over and over and over and over again.

This is how I built massive following, and massive biz ness fast. Its not get rich, but its get wealthy, at a level you can handle while doing some work for like 2-3 hours a day.

Why not get a real job to pay the bills and in the meantime, start your own online business and fund it from your job?

Like stop being a freelancer and start an actual business. You seem to have the knowledge

You could always run a 1 page cheatsheet based around your skills for a buck or so as a WSO and build up a Buyers List. Very easy to do and very affordable. Other than that the cost is $20 to list there

while you wait for your break in what ever you want to do

    start building assets/authority sites

I suspect in a few years opportunities on the internet are going to drastically change once the big companies catchup

    look at every disruptive technology
    starting with the train industry
    radio
    tv etc...

at one time when these disruptive technologies were new the small guy had a chance

now try to do anything in any disruptive technology
almost impossible to do without lots of money

    start building your assets now

    like when planting a tree

when is the best time to do so

    next best time

    NOW!

Do not get discouraged. I strongly believe that it's too many ways to feel depressed you have to pray and get right back up. The devil wants you to feel like you can't do anything because of your situation now. I continue to try and work to help out people. I have a course coming out no for affiliate marketing. This course is something that I know can help people. Even if I didn't don't give up. That's the last thing you'd want to do. I use to have no bank account at all just about two years ago. Even when I didn't I was still helping people out when I had nothing. You have to fill yourself with more positive thoughts no matter what age your at to get that mindset that you can do it. I don't know all of you but I believe in you even if I am the only person to tell you that.

I think the fastest and easiest way to make money online is sell stuff on Ebay and Amazon. So you find some cheap product that everyone is buying. Especially a consumable, that way if they buy once from you, they might buy again later, or you can ask them to buy from you again after a while. So one customer could be a customer for years. So for example one good product is makeup. Or just do some research. Then you put that on ebay. When an order shows up say on your ebay account, then you drop ship the product to the seller. You go to: Aliexpress or Dhgate, or somene other cheap far east supplier and you fulfill the order. You order and when you checkout you just put in your buyers address. They then drop ship the product direct to your customer for you. So say your item you sell it for 12 and you buy/ship it for 4. So you made 8 dollars on that lipstick or whatever item your selling. It's really lame. It really is. And it's a lot of work. Like you're constantly having to drop ship, fight with customers, deal with nasty beaurocrates in the auction sites your selling on, and other stuff. But the great part is, they have the traffic, they have the mall, the site and the checkout. All you do is list your product and start. And if you're lucky orders will start to flow in. Like priced competitively and orders "flow in". Like you can make a lot of sales, which means a lot of work, to have to deal with all that. Then you also don't have any control over your store. The owners of the auction can shut you down at anytime. That's why I just hate all this big malls, hubs, auction sites. YOu work so hard to get something working and then some peeon at the company decides they don't like you and your out. So you run that risk but it is a solid way to make real cash fast, say to get by on until you get your next big thing going. So it's a good side line business. Go try it. You can set it up in a hour. But again, lots of work and headaches ahhh.

As I am reading more of this advice I just need to add: if your energy is so focused on lack and limitation that you have almost nothing, all of the advised actions you take will yield a "nothing" energy, or, will fail. Almost like handing the keys of a Ferrari to my 1 year old niece; kinda useless

But if you earn some money through a job or heck, even get a loan from a trusted family member, you will feel like you have something, and can move into these actions from an abundant space, bringing you success.
