This is something that I've thought about often, if I sell a product to somebody who pays via Paypal, and within minutes they email me requesting a refund, is it up to me as the seller to issue the refund or is it up to the buyer to make the request via Paypal?

Hope that doesn't sound too confusing. Issuing refunds isn't a problem to me, but sometimes when I know that someone is just stealing the product, I wouldn't mind letting them do the legwork.

The seller issues the refund. For digital items, it is up to you to decide if you want to give one though. PP will not intervene in digital item transactions.

Agreed. Paypal will not intervene unless it is a physical product and provided the buyer does not received the product.

The seller issues the refund. PP has better things to do than issuing a refund.

Seller its a opinion and you can decide yourself on each case. If you feel the person was out to just rip off your product you do not have to issue a refund to that person because the digital product and everything as promised was delivered. However if it is a honest request for the refund and the person has a good reason for requesting it or what have you I would issue the refund.

Also depends on your refund policy, obviously if you have one you have to honor it even though you suspect you are being scammed. (Happened to most of us on here)

All you need to do if you are unsure how to do it is go to the transaction in question in your paypal account scroll down and you will see the refund option. (Very easy). It's not there after 60 days though

I bought a script a few weeks ago. $19.99; not the pint though. Nowhere in the sales letter did the author say it was encrypted and there was no "system requirements" link.

I don't buy encrypted scripts because I don;t know what they are doing behind my back. So, immediately after downloading and seeing it was encrypted, I contacted the seller and asked for a refund. I told him why.

Now understand that this script can;t be used until the license key is received upon registration, so the seller should know I didn't register it and I wasn't scamming him.

Several requests over 10 days went ignored so I filed a refund request through PayPal. He declined and escalated it to PayPal who refused the refund. Case closed.

    Just saying...
