I've been using 3 column wordpress themes (I find these easier to monetize fully) and I place an Aweber plugin at the top of the right-hand side-bar so it there in view when anyone opens my blog/s.

Go to Appearance => Widgets, add a text box to your sidebar and paste the code into that. You'll still have to style it in your stylesheet to make it look pretty. |

Us westerners read from left to right. You want opt ins? Upper left hand corner that's the hot spot.

Hi, I've tested on upper right corner....not a good one. Now i'm using pop-up..better than previous srategy. Thinking of to try upper left corner as mentioned above and wanna see the result. Just to add that, the advantage of putting opt in box on sidebar widget is people will see your offer on every page they land on your blog. Thanks |

If you go with the upper left you need it to blend with the content--otherwise banner blindness will kick in and no one will "see" your incentive.

Contrary to what's been said here, I've had the most success with the top right hand corner of the sidebar. Except, I use a bright orange button (instead of an opt-in form) which links to a full squeeze page where I can really sell the opt-in. I've found that just having an opt-in box on either the left or right sidebars on it's own, performs quite poorly. That's just my $0.02. All the best. |

Definite in the Sidebar at the top. I usually have a red arrow pointing to it from the main text body on static pages ("Subscribe to my email course" or somesuch in bold next to the arrow..)

Upper righ corner works well, but I usualy make one page as a "free e-book" or "free stuff" page to emphesis on the optin form. In aweber you can creat any kind of optin forms.

Killer software increased my conversions by over 83% It's totally cool, doesn't look like a blatant sales pitch and has transformed my business. I absolutely guarentee this will out perform any opt in box on your web page be it top left, top right, upside, downside, inside, outside. Ultimate Footer ad.... Check it out ! |
