Just be sure the affiliate program you are using allows iFrames... Especially in the CPA world... I've seen a lot of CPA offers not allow iFrames.

And not just the CPA world, Clickbank says not to use iframes. Here's the info from their site (emphasis mine):

However, some affiliates attempt to hide their HopLinks by having them open into other types of sub-window objects, such as frames, iframes, layers, applets, or images. These types of HopLinks are considered invalid, and can result in lost affiliate referral credit, incorrect display of your website, or, in the case of abuse of the HopLink system, could result in account termination without notice.

Yes this is a good cloaker, works very well getting ads and campaigns approved. I wouldn't advise using this with e-mail and zip submits.

Just as Mike mentioned lots of affiliate systems break frames and many people will put frame breaking code on their site as well.

Its just not a good idea to make people think they are buying from some url that they are not really buying from as well.

In our own affiliate network and in our own cpa network we do not allow frames and break them by default.

But we also have one of the most accurate affiliate tracking systems on the net that tracks by ip and cookie as well as employing a smart anti affiliate theft detection system which rewards the last legit referrer.

I think the real answer is for the affiliate industry to wake up and start providing more accurate tracking systems and for publishers to refuse to run their affiliate programs with outdated systems that track only by cookie which is unreliable.

Also many people who use url shortening services and more invasive cloaking systems might discover that they are incompatible with some affiliate systems and actually cost them sales. Affiliates who do not understand the tracking or cloaking technology that they are using and are just rushing to shorten a url or cloak when it is not necessary may actually be causing more harm that good especially with the issues surrounding the new generation of browser security protocols, phishing detection, SSL interferance and third party cookie blocking issues etc.

Affiliates need to be smarter now than ever and understand the technology they are using and the risks and potential problems that using cloaking that they do not understand, or that might not be compatible with the tracking they or the affiliate program is using, or that is invasive enough to cause problems with browser security etc. might be causing them... cloaking may be a bigger problem than affiliate theft in some cases ;-)

      Be smart.

  • You pay for tools that make your job easier. IFRAMES are not the best way to cloak a link. They are not that easy to manage/scale/change.

I just added to AFLinker ability to track every click on every link on every page separately. Great for traffic/analysis study.

All tracking and stats are integrated with Google analytics - I guess it makes sense as it's free everyone is using it.
