Please look at my plan for starting an online business

I am starting an online business with my own private label product. I have the products manufactured already and all set to go. This is my plan for selling them.

1. Set up shopify
2. Add blog pages in Shopify site and collect emails from the blog pages.
3. Promote my FB page about the product and spend $5 everyday on FB advert. The ad will direct traffic to my blog pages in Shopify which allows me to either collect their email or sell them something.
4. Send information related to my products to my email list together with promotion on the product.

Is there anything else I should be doing?

Thanks

Have you considered doing Youtube and Instagram as well?

They are just as powerful in grabbing more eyeballs as well.

Do blogger outreach and get them on board through discount codes

You can hire a VA for this for less than $100

You should have as many "entry points" to your selling system as you can. Your plan includes a blog and a FB page. It's going to take you a long time to get traction in this system with this limited approach. Every piece of great content that you can distribute that will be seen by your audience can act as another point. Every affiliate your get onboard can become an entry point. Every time you get a link on an authority site in the niche, that's another entry point. What I'm saying is don't limit your effort to just a blog and a few FB ads - you can do a lot more if you hustle and promote like you really want this effort to be meaningful.

Sometimes I see new marketers ask questions and then when the answers start coming...I'm thinking how long before they get overwhelmed?

    Lol.

Unfortunately there is no die hard plan for success (in any niche).

I just read Steve's post above and agee...you will need to hustle...a lot!

    But here's my input...

I would focus on only (1) traffic source.

    Don't try 10.

The money is not in a list.

It's in the 'Mastery' of (1) traffic source and the skill of converting that said traffic.

Don't just be another Jack in this industry who tries out as many forms of marketing as they possibly can.

Become a Master of your art.

If you are going to market on Facebook Ads...market!

But you will need more than just $5 per day (if this is your budget).

Facebook Ads are a learning curve all by itself.

So do what Steve said...Get busy!

But with only one marketing method.

Sure you may see some people making $$ with multiple methods.

But they learned how to master (1) first.

Trust me. This is the best advice you may ever get in this forum. Don't fall into common gurus said! The only thing I'd add is do your marketing approach with video if possible.

Have you tested selling the product anywhere before you had it white labelled?

Do you have proof it will sell?

Do you know your target audience and where they hang out?

If you are interested in building out some of your strategy and generating traffic in relation to the content you create this article might help. Accelerate Your Customer Journey with intent based search optimisation

I'd encourage you to do lots of research into where your ideal prospects are hanging out and what they are talking about.

You can then enter their conversations and at the same time develop your marketing strategies to meet their needs.

Setting up the process like you describe is the easy part but putting the right message in front of the right audience at the right time is what really counts and then you need them to convert.

    Best regards,

    Ozi

It's a terrible plan, in my honest opinion.

Shopify is by far the best platform for an online store. But, it's not necessarily the best platform for an unknown brand to make sales.

Driving paid traffic to a blog page will likely cost more for poorer results. The visitor has too many options, they can click other links, go to other pages, read the article, read some of the article, leave all together. On the other side, landing pages make the reader make a decision - enter an email or leave.

Drive traffic to your landing page, then to a thank you page, then to one time offer, then to an upsell or downsell. If you can get your funnel to break even on your initial PPC traffic, you're essentially making money from free leads in your follow ups.

What key problem(s) does your private label product(s) solve? Answer that and develop an info product that helps solve one of those problems if your product accelerates it.

I'd say, add multi media to your blog; videos on YouTube, Live Videos on Facebook, podcasts on Soundcloud and iTunes. Adding multi-media creates deeper bonds and also diversifies traffic sources, which is a good thing for appealing to a larger group of folks.

Since you have a blog that provides useful information, and your intention is to drive traffic there so you can either collect emails or sell them services through your affiliate link..I suggest using two free platforms such as Quora & Medium to assist you in doing so. With Quora (if you have the fortitude) you can answer related questions to your niche and drive traffic back to your blog or squeeze page. With Medium its the same approach except you won't be answering questions, you'll just be writing articles, and within those articles, as you're already doing on your blog, you can add affiliate links within the context, or again you can just drive those leads to a squeeze page. This has been the most effective for me. Its a Native way to drive traffic that helps passively alongside your paid efforts.

If you have followed the advice of most private label gurus and "Just slapped on a label" my suggestion is that you think of a label as a major selling tool.

What do people see when they look at your product listings? Another ordinary label that simply tells them that you also sell product X?

Not all labels are born equal. Choice of labels can make or break your business. Do some research and find out what makes a brand memorable, and how to apply that to your own product.

Just remember, when using facebook ads, always try and direct the ad traffic towards a page within facebook because the ads are cheaper!
