Hey guys, Just as the title says, is there an advantage of having a reseller hosting account opposed to a normal hosting plan? Gurpreet |

Gurpreet, I am going to get a reseller account sometime soon because I want to manage mutliple domains individually. I am tired of using subdomains all the time, redirects and all of that. Also, I may be able to make some money by allowing people to host their site on my server! |

Yes there is. I have 15 domains on one reseller account and they all have their own c panels. If I want to sell a domain I can charge for hosting.

great thanks guys. I wasn't too sure what the advantage was. I'm finding it tedious working with subdomains too. I'm planning on expanding my VRE so I guess a reseller account is the way to go. Gurpreet |

Another advantage to this is if your into offline marketing you can charge your clients for hosting. More recurring income for you. ![]() Aljiro |

I wanted to know with a reseller account are domains on one IP address or are they on different IP addresses? Can you get them with different IP addresses?

Yet another advantage of a reseller account as opposed to a normal package, is that you have the ability to move bandwidth from your lesser-used domains to those that need it. That way, you can avoid having all your sites shut down even if only one of them exceeds your bandwidth/CPU usage allowance. Frank |

Do you guys have any recommendations for Reseller Hosting? I'm thinking of not renewing with my HostGator account (baby plan) and going with a HostNine.com reseller account. |

Anyone used GoDaddy's service for this? I talked to a domainer one time who has his own, run through GoDaddy and he loves it. Costs something like $100 a year???
