Depends on the type of blog you're running. Find out where your target market likes to hang out - whether it be Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest), or community forums! I would be sharing my blog on social media and forums. I also would not hesitate to set up a facebook like page and promote my blog their using fb ads.

YouTube is also great platform to promote on and you do not even need to spend money on ads.

Blog promotion will require you to have a specific strategy and the ability to stay consistent.

1. The first method of promotion I recommend, is leaving helpful comments on other relevant blogs. Leave a comment that demonstrates your authority on the subject and people will be curious to check out your blog and see what else you have to say. This method works well when done consistently. Comment on 1-5 blogs every day to see the best results.

2. Guest blog posting is another great way to promote your blog. In order to do this effectively I recommend you have at least 3-5 high quality posts on your blog, and then you can reach out to other bloggers in your niche with a good following. You can send a message to the blog owner and let the owner know that you'd like to write a guest post. Attach an outline of the post you plan on writing for the owners blog, so he can see that you're serious. At the end of your article, you can leave your info such as your name and a link to your blog.

3. Another great way to promote your blog is by submitting your blog to blog directories such as: https://blogs.botw.org/

That is a paid blog directory but there are also some free ones that will help boost your daily traffic to your site. There are some decent blog directories that most people aren't even aware of, so you can take advantage of this underrated traffic generation method.

4. Facebook and Youtube are great social media platforms that you can use to generate targeted traffic to your site. I personally did very well with YouTube and I'm now experimenting with Facebook and like the results so far. The YouTube strategy consists of upload keyword targeted videos on your youtube channel. So, for example if you were in the weight loss niche, you could create videos about losing weight and target keywords that people are searching on google (use the google keyword tool). Then you can have a call-to-action to your blog on every video.

The Facebook method consists of engaging in relevant facebook groups and then adding people as friends. Then on your personal Facebook profile you can drop links to the posts on your blog. Make sure everything is congruent. You need to engage in facebook groups where your targeted audience hangs out, and contribute to the group by answering people's questions and sharing helpful content in the group.


Remember the key to being successful with promoting your blog is consistency.

Join social media groups and communities relating to the niche you in and share your blog posts.

The #1 way to promote a blog is to have a major influencer refer poeple.

Create a Facebook page for your blog and then join some Facebook "viral like ladders" and start liking other FB pages and they will like your FB page back. This has helped me get more traffic to some of my blogs.

Also, create a Twitter account for your blog and follow other Twitter accounts in the same niche as your blog, and retweet some of their tweets from time to time, and many of them will return the favor.
