Mind blowing article in Ars Technica. Pharmaceutical spam works ridiculously well . The article includes a link to the source report from Sophos.

Viagra spam brings bulging returns of more than $4,000/day - Ars Technica

There really are lots of buyers. As long as there's a market they won't stop.
What to do?
#$4k or day or campaign #spam

Spam wont go away for a long time -- its the nature of the internet and isn't illegal. So the way that we currently interact with e-mail/communication means thats its here to stay for better or worse.

In my neck of the woods, it is illegal. Just google spam jail to see some of the prison terms given some notorious spammers.

It's irritating that we as legitimate IMers take the time and pain to create good emails, and then they end up in the SPAM folder! (sometimes...)

And then there are those out there who make money ripping people off...

Oh well, I prefer to make little money ethically than making a ton of money by spamming people....I could not sleep at night that way...

    That makes sense to me.

Things like viagra may be embarrassing for some to order in person.
So if they can order it online they will.

That's just a small piece of the pie...

You wouldn't believe how much profits are generated daily from
    spam.

When the internet was born, spam was born & it has existed ever
    since.

It will NEVER die and there's nothing that we can do to stop it :/

I don't even pay attention to articles like that... Its illegal so who cares; drug dealers make a lot of money too, big woop; not too long ago a big time spammer got caught and was about to do several years in prison and he ended up committing suicide... Moral of the story kids; crime doesn't pay, at least not in the long run.

$4k a day I can see why people do it but surely a good site with good SEO will give you better foundations... then spam on the side...lol

Spam is just one of those irritations in the world we have to cope with like someone whistling in an elevator or Glasgow Rangers supporters (good-natured joke).

Just amazes me that people still buy from those emails. And $4k a day, that's no small thing.

The conversion on the spam emails must be horrible, but they send out millions of them so they don't need much of a conversion to make bank.

I never buy from spammers but I guess others do.
