Do you think it is too late to make money with Amazon kindle?

I have been thinking to publish 4-5 kindle books (information products) on Amazon. I would hire writer/s and even copywriter for that. My goal would be something like $400-$500 a month in passive income but I am worried about competition and saturation.

Do you think that Amazon kindle is just too competitive and too saturated these days?

Thanks!

    In a nutshell . . . NO . . . if . . .
    1. You research your niche and find an audience that is underserved
    2. You provide valuable information that prospects are actively seeking
    3. You choose an very inviting title and outstanding cover graphic
    4. You provide social proof that your Kindle book is exceptional
    5. You promote your book and link it to all your other Kindle books
    6. You leverage your marketing of the book to get the widest exposure possible
    7. You follow up and get all your prospects and buyers on your list so that you can contact them over time with information on your new releases
    8. Don't let your book(s) become stale - update as necessary
This list should get you going in any niche.

No, market saturation isn't a good enough reason to avoid it.

    Most markets are saturated.

    Are people still reading books?

If yes, then the answer is no, the market is not saturated.

Show me a market with no one else in it and I'll show you a market you don't want to be in.

    Why?

Because if there was money there, people would be there marketing in it.

    Go for it!

so true, soon as someone comes out with 50 shades of grey people say SATURATED.

I have a client doing $2000 per month with similar erotic stories, women read them. Are they trashy, yes, but who cares, women lap that chit up like its going out of fashion.

Keep selling what sells. That is the way I look at it.

Exactly. Now, thanks to Amazon Kindle intelligence gathering tools, finding the right niches has become so much easier.

It's better to sell to a crowded niche with heavy demand than having a low or zero demand 'niche' all to yourself.

    It's never too late

If your main goal is to actually SELL books by establishing a solid author reputation, it's never too late

Now, if you just want tons of 'borrows' from users who don't end up buying your books, that game is over.

Only if you didn't wake up early today

Time has nothing to do with the art of developing a skill, packaging that skill in an eBook, rendering useful service though that eBook and receiving money for it.

As a guy has 126 eBooks on Amazon and 170 plus products, and just received my Kindle commissions yesterday, please don't set money goals. Money is the worst driver, because it causes you to worry about fear-based BS lies like competition and saturation.

Set a service-based driver. Then you will write 126 eBooks versus 5, and you'll slay it.

Thanks everyone. I know that people are buying and reading books. I know that kindle publishing is rising every year but my concern is this:

Let's suppose that I publish "how to lose belly fat" ebook on Amazon. If potential buyer writes "how to lose belly fat" in Amazon search area, he will most likely buy ebook from top positions for that keyword. Few people (if any) will scroll down and buy 36. (or 336.) ebook in a row.

Because of that, I need to write ebooks for less competitive keywords or niches with decent volume where people are buying ebooks (spending money) but can I find them or competition is already well established there and my ebook will sink to the 41. place....

Potential buyer will buy and read ebook, he will spend money and seller will make money but am I going to be that seller or someone from a top position...

Steve said that I have to find audience that is underserved, but can I find that audience on Amazon?

First thing you need to do is your research. It might take time if you are trying to avoid a saturated niche and find one where there is demand and underserved. But you won't know until you look for it. No one is going to tell you where you can find such a sub-sub-niche. Not if it is making them money.

Whether it is fiction or non-fiction you are targeting, always write a series a books. Find a way to connect them to each other. Start building your e-mail list as early as possible. This is best done with a perma-free or $0.99 cent first book in the series.

Here's What i said in another thread

      Category competition

How many books sell in your chosen category. Look at the ranking for the books in position 1 (bestseller) 20 (last book on first page of bestsellers) and 100 (last on the best seller list).

You'll probably want no 1 to have a sales rank of under 10,000 and the book position 20 to have a sales rank of under 50,000. This shows that there are sales taking place on a consistent basis. If Book 20 or 100 have seriously high ranks then you know that category is very competitive.

Spend time on this. My next book is going into two categories that have high sales ranks but few books listed.
Alongside this you will want to look at how many books are already available in your niche and how many are going to be released.

If you want to delve deeper look at author earning reports but for now the above should help.

Check out Chris Fox on YouTube he has some good videos on write to market and launch to market.
