Help! How to use social network to promote credit card services?

Hello fellow warriors,

I need help to brainstorm some ideas.

One of my local client wants us to promote their credit card
services on the social network.

Anybody got some ideas to share? I am thinking to promote
their services on facebook, twitter and other social site for them,
but they seem want something more.

What can I do to create more "branding" effect or maybe
some viral effect?

Since that client of yours obviously has some internet marketing knowledge (otherwise, he would not have told you "I want you to promote my CC services on Social Networks), maybe you should ask him? Well, of course, don't ask "How do I do that?", but mask the question. Ask away something in a manner of "Do you have any specific thoughts or ideas?", "Is there anything specific you would want?" or similar.

In any case, I believe it will be going to be relatively difficult. People are afraid of anything related to Credit Cards when it's online (unless they are shopping for something). Also, Facebook is full of teenagers and kids who do not have credit cards.

I don't think my client understand internet marketing well. They
just get known that social networking is hot right now and no ideas
on how to utilized it. That's why they called us in to help.

Basically what they want is the "branding" and "lead to sign up
their credit card"

They are not bank, but independent credit card service provider.
Quite well know in my country, they even advertised in local newspapers
and TV networks.

But now they want to diversify some of their advertising budget into
"internet media" but not the traditional one like PPC or SEO.

Any good ideas my fellow warriors?
