Placing Ads in EZines.

I am evaluating placing some banner ads on select EZines (for Internet Marketing).

I want to find out from expert Warriors a) if they are effective and b) any pitfalls to watch for.

I would also appreciate any recommendation on EZines for placing ads.

2) some ezine publishers claim fake hundreds of thousands of subscribers. If you subscribe to their ezines you'll see that they actually don't publish anything except of ads. Ads, ads, ads. => always subscribe to the ezines BEFORE placing your order.
