Hi everyone, I am looking forward to buy a site either from Flippa or FE International. Some sites costs over 1500 USD+, hence I wanna be completely sure before I invest such a good amount.

What I wanna know is :
1 - Those sites that say that the buyer will be able to make 1000 USD+ approx per month, is it true? Is it really possible?

2 - Why will the previous owner sell such a great site that was already making him 1000 USD approx per month? Also, I have seen some sites generating around 2000 USD + per month and they are also on sell? Why will the owners of such huge sites sell them at first place? I mean it is kinda weird right?

3 - I was told from FE International that I have hire guys from upwork.com for working on wordpress on my site if I don't know anything about wordpress. So , can it be done? Can I hire them to work on my site?

Has anyone bought such sites before? How are those sites working for you?

Kindly give your thoughts.

Thanks,
Finn99

  • Last time I had the same experience with Flippa they asked for $2500 for one of the website, when I check with "worthofweb.com" it says the value of the website is $450 I am little confuse because the difference is four times more than the market value, anyone suggest me as well, is it worth buying from Flippa or FE International.

Here's the thing, Flippa listings are sales pitches that try to convince you to bid on or buy a website. It's a marketplace and the goal of the person who lists a website it to make money.

Unless there is verifiable evidence that the site is making $x,xxx dollars per month, then take anything that's says the "site could be" or has "potential to" make $x,xxx with a grain of salt. A wise man once said that potential is just a nice way to say it hasn't done anything yet. With that said, it's possible that some, or even all, of these sites could generate $1,000 or more per month. But, it depends on YOU and YOUR ability to make it happen.

Flippa is full of websites that people either get tired of working on or websites that were built to be flipped later on. Or people who need money for other projects or sudden expenses. Why someone would sell a website is an fairly irrelevant factor in whether you should buy it or not. Do your due diligence and decide if it's a good investment for you.

If you don't know how to manage your site, then you'll either have to learn or hire someone who does know how. There are plenty of people on Upwork ready to assist you.

I perceive (but may be wrong), that you are looking for kind of an automatic income.

    That doesn't happen normally.

Let's use this site - the Warrior forum - as an example. It makes a bunch of money every month. It has a good reputation and has been around 20+ years.

Let's say that I buy it today. For a period of time, some of the income would keep coming because of the previous reputation. But if I didn't do any marketing, slowly but surely that monthly income might wither down to nothing.

The sites you are looking at though, probably don't have the same advantages. They are not big profit potential websites with years of good reputation. Or else they would charge accordingly.

So, I see that unless you know how to market your site or you can hire someone to help you market, there will be no income no matter what has happened in the past.

My own experience is that when consistent, proper marketing is done money can be made. When it's not consistent or appropriate for the site, money is hardly ever made - especially on an ongoing hands-off way.

The question, then, is what are your plans to develop these sites with content and help that will keep people coming to the site and how are you going to consistently get the word out about the sites.

If those 2 things are handled - content/services your audience wants/needs and proper marketing - you can possibly make some consistent money. If not, probably not.

    Good luck.
    Mark
