What Would You Sell to Tiny Homes / Log Homes Niche...

Hi guys,
I have an email audience who is interested in log homes / tiny homes / country living... that sort of thing.

I have never really been able to figure out a good product to sell to them or service to offer... how to make money on my email list basically.

I used to sell a little eBook about log homes but, it's a pretty small drop in the bucket for an eBook,

I have thought about selling actual houses but... that's such a big project per sale and I'm not a construction company, I'm just a marketer...

Any ideas? What would you sell to an email list? How would you make money with this kind of audience?

Look at relevant websites and magazines to see what's being advertised, sponsors, paid ads, etc...

How much traffic do you have?

I hope you understand that marketers at this forum are not your audience and whatever they say, while it could be helpful, is not the same as what you should be focusing on - i.e., what your subscribers want. Ask them. Bribe them. Listen to them. Find their "pain points." See what problems, issues, and frustrations they have in the niche.

Some of your subscribers won't have problems, per se, but rather they will have desires and dreams within the niche. Find out what those are. You don't have to make their dreams come true to get paid . . . but maybe you can help some people in some small way move closer to realizing their dreams.

Maybe some of your subscribers would like a place where they can hang out, congregate, and engage and talk to others in the niche online. You could be an enabler that brings like-minded people together.

There are literally thousands of things you can do to make money off a niche. Don't limit yourself to small thinking about the usual ebooks, Amazon niche products, and Clickbank fodder.

    Good luck,

    Steve

You are looking for products that either serve several purposes or provide fun or luxury while taking up a very small space. Furniture for small homes is a growing industry - tables and chairs that fold away or hang on a wall, murphy beds, unique storage solutions for clothing and everyday items.

Many of the things are one step up from similar products used by campers.

If you spend time on the expanding list of tiny home and small home sites, you'll see some of the same problems listed often - and also will find some good products to promote on those sites.

I'm sure there are magazines that people buy that are interested in them.

See what is being advertised in them.

You don't even have to sell the same things. You could generate leads for the companies advertising their products / services. Which getting someone to fill out a short form is mush easier than getting them to take out a credit card and make a purchase.

Isn't there a ClickBank item that is a HUGE seller about woodworking? I get spammed with it all the time. These people might be interested if they are interested in building log homes.

I know that one of the sites that I did SEO on back from January until April this year was for a guy that builds Tiny houses in Canada.
It is still a growing community.
He went broke,so he quit buying the service..but they are still sitting big on Google and Bing, like in the first five listings.
This guy just wanted instant results...and really did not show any rank until a month after he stopped paying me.He probably paid me less than what most folks would ask for..but this was just a chance to show him that I could get him noticed.
The big thing to me is to get involved, not just to market a site with no understanding of it's particular job market.
but I am sure that getting good articles, ebooks, interviews with folks in the field, all sorts of ideas could be put to work here.
    Good luck man

i would suggest DIY products. Tiny home living is not cheap
and if you can give your audience simple ideas to make
them more comfortable in a small space, then they will
    love you for it.

There are several different sub-niches within the log home, tiny home, country living niches/markets. It's impossible to say without knowing why these people signed up for your list.

What was your lead magnet that enticed someone to give you their email?

From what I've seen on TV, tiny homes and log homes are on opposite sides of the spectrum. But both are popular enough to sustain multiple TV shows. There's even one about building homes on floats.

Spend some of your down time watching shows like "Tiny House Living" and "Log Cabin Living", and take notes. While you might not want to get involved with the actual construction process, you can get an idea of what people are looking for. What features/products get the oohs and ahs? What are the pluses and minuses that you might be able to find a product for?

There's also a show about off-grid living, which will give you a long list of products and info products this sub-niche might be interested in.

Go to the web pages for the various shows. Read the capsules and any comments from real people.

Simply coming to a forum like this and asking "what should I sell" smacks of laziness, to be honest. Kay gave you some great hints. Doing your own research will give you even more.

Then you can follow Steve's advice and ask your subscribers what they want, what bothers them the most, how they feel about that, etc.

[Off topic: I never understood the whole 'tiny house' thing to begin with. If your house has a tire on each corner, and moving consists of hooking up a truck and driving away, it's not a 'tiny house', it's a trailer. )

Tiny home living is not cheap
Actually, yes it is. Very small spaces are cheap to insure, cheap to heat and cool, etc.

I think the trend soon will be away from "tiny" and toward "small" spaces. I've seen that recently with homes in the 500-900 sq ft range being featured. The tiny home movement is still lively but after a few years it seems most of the tiny houses have turned in rental properties. As long term living spaces, they just don't cut it for many people.

The TV shows and sites have gone from "tiny homes" to "luxury tiny homes" to "tiny mansions" and the premise of "how small can we go" has pretty much played out.

As John mentioned - the off grid housing is another fascinating lifestyle with it's own set of products...

Maybe you should focus on 'country living' and then have separate categories for off grid, tiny homes, logs homes, etc...

Yes, of course monthly living expenses are cheaper but buying the home is not.
If you buy a 350sf tiny home with moderate upgrades, it can easily go for
      $80,000 dollars, if not more.

These homes have to have custom made stairs, sinks, washer/dryer connections,
showers, etc and this is what drives up the cost. Personally, I think they would get
more bang for their bucks in a decked out RV at a fraction of the cost, but RVs
      are not as cute.

this is what we did to sell similar $4000 per month of stuff profit.

    1) Went to tiny log home forum. [yes there are plenty]

    2) Made sure it had lots of traffic.

    3) Emailed the forum owner.

    4) Asked to put nice banner ad at the top of the forum.

    5) Everytime peope log in they see the banner, they click over to the website and buy stuff.

Seriously this is the most targeted traffic you can get.

We got fast and serious results from this. Just an idea.

Make sure you go and hang out where the most likey buyer is hanging out and make money that way.

    Hope it helps.

Well if I was in the middle of nowhere I would be interested in Communication devices. Charges for every type of item.

    Ecommerce clothing for outdoors.

    Security/Protection niches.

    Gormet food for Survivalist.

Lot's to work with in my humble.
